• Gets shelled Tuesday
Mize (1-3) allowed six runs on nine hits across 1.2 innings to take the loss Tuesday against the Royals. He had no walks and struck out two.

Advice: Not walking anyone was nice, though that's about where the positives ended for Mize, who allowed a new season high in earned runs while also recording his shortest outing of the year. His previous high was five runs allowed back on May 4, but he had allowed just three total runs across 12 innings in two starts since then. Overall, the righty now has a 4.57 ERA over 45.1 innings this season, which is only slightly above his career 4.35 mark. Mize will look for a better result in his next scheduled appearance, which is currently penciled in for Sunday against the Blue Jays. Rotowire.com 16 minutes ago

  • Martín Pérez struggles with command vs SF
Martín Pérez allowed four runs (two runs) on five hits in 4 1/3 innings in a no-decision against the Giants.

Advice: Pérez struck out four but walked three on the day. He started just 10 of the 22 batters he faced with a first-pitch strike and had a zone rate of 36 percent overall which is not good. It led to a 19 percent CSW on the day, and he’s lucky the final line wasn’t much worse. He’ll take a 4.80 ERA into a weekend showdown against the Braves and should not be started in fantasy leagues. • Schmidt allows two earned in loss to Mariners
Clarke Schmidt allowed two earned runs and four hits over five innings in the Yankees’ loss to the Mariners.

Advice: The two earned runs Schmidt allowed came on a two-run homer by Dylan Moore on a pitch that was off the outside black of the plate. It was a well-thrown pitch that resulted in an unfortunate outcome for Schmidt, who was otherwise solid on the evening. He walked just two batters while striking out six and has now struck out six or more batters in seven of his 10 starts. Schmidt is scheduled to make his next start on Sunday against the Padres. • Logan Webb let down by bullpen on Tuesday
Logan Webb allowed two runs on six hits in six innings in a no-decision against the Pirates on Tuesday.

Advice: Webb left the game with a 5-2 lead and watched as the Giants blew a 6-2 lead in the bottom of the ninth before losing in extra innings. Webb went back to a change-up-heavy approach on Tuesday, registering just a 17 percent whiff rate but a 28 percent CSW. However, he also allowed an average exit velocity on contact of 96.7 mph and allowed 11 hard-hit baseballs. Lucky for him, just one of those went for extra bases and he was able to lower his ERA to 3.03 on the year. He has a solid start lined up against the Mets this weekend. Rotoworld 24 minutes ago

  • Woo dominates over six scoreless innings vs. Yanks
Bryan Woo pitched six scoreless innings while striking out seven to earn the win on Tuesday against the Yankees.

Advice: Woo allowed just two hits in this one and didn’t walk a batter. The second-year pro has now allowed just one earned run over three starts and 15 2/3 innings this season since being activated from the 15-day injured list on May 10th. Woo is now 2-0 with a 0.57 ERA and 0.51 WHIP. He’ll look to keep his hot start going on Sunday against the Nationals. Rotoworld 24 minutes ago

  • Promotion imminent
Nastrini will be recalled from Triple-A Charlotte to start Wednesday's game against Toronto, LaMond Pope of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Advice: Nastrini struggled mightily during his first two career MLB starts, allowing seven earned runs across eight total innings while striking out eight batters and walking seven. Since being optioned to Charlotte in late April, he's posted a 5.24 ERA and 1.30 WHIP through 22.1 frames. Despite his lackluster performance, he'll be called upon to fill the open spot in Chicago's rotation and start Wednesday, pushing Mike Clevinger's next start to Thursday. • Improves to 9-0
Suarez (9-0) earned the win Tuesday over the Rangers, allowing one run on five hits and two walks while striking out 10 over seven innings.

Advice: Suarez was stellar again Tuesday, holding Texas to a lone run on a Marcus Semien double in the third inning while recording a season-high 10 strikeouts. The 28-year-old southpaw has been a revelation for the Phillies this season -- his ERA is down to a sparkling 1.36 with a 0.79 WHIP and 49:9 K:BB while earning a league-most nine wins across 10 starts (66 innings). Suarez will look to keep rolling in his next outing, currently scheduled for this weekend in Colorado. Rotowire.com 25 minutes ago

  • Alec Marsh fans five in win over Tigers
Alec Marsh allowed three earned runs on five hits over six innings, earning the win in the Royals’ win over the Tigers.

Advice: Marsh was able to sit in cruise control for much of this one. The Royals gave him a six run lead to work with early in the game, as Marsh went on to strike out five batters while allowing just three runs – all of which came in the fourth inning. Now sitting at 4-1 on the year and boasting a 2.72 ERA, Marsh will look to earn his fifth win of the season on Monday against the Twins. Rotoworld 27 minutes ago

  • Mize allows six earned runs in loss to Royals
Casey Mize allowed six earned runs on nine hits over 1 2/3 innings in Tuesday’s loss to the Royals.

Advice: Mize was off all night and saw his 3.50 ERA balloon to 4.57 as a result. After allowing two runs in the first inning, Mize was taken deep by Bobby Witt Jr. for a three-run homer in the second and was pulled for Tyler Horton after allowing three more hits to the next four batters he faced. It was the second time this season Mize has allowed five or more earned runs, while his 1 2/3 innings pitched marked his shortest outing of the season. He’ll look to get right in his next start, which is scheduled for Sunday against the Blue Jays. Rotoworld 32 minutes ago
