    • Slugs ninth homer
Lowe went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer and an additional run scored in Monday's 6-3 win versus St. Louis.

Advice: The Texas first baseman extended the lead to 6-2 in the seventh inning when he crushed a 407-foot, two-run homer off reliever Chris Roycroft. It marks Lowe's fifth long ball of July, as he has enjoyed a stellar month so far, hitting .291 (23-for-79) with 16 RBI, 11 runs scored and 23 walks. Overall, the 29-year-old is now slashing .272/.366/.403 across 347 plate appearances this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:36 pm
    • Nathaniel Lowe homers as Texas tops Cardinals
Nathaniel Lowe bashed a two-run homer in a 6-3 win for the Rangers on Monday over the Cardinals.

Advice: Lowe blistered an opposite-field shot off Chris Raycroft to extend the Texas lead to 6-3. The 29-year-old is starting to show a little more power as of late, and he also singled and walked while scoring another run. With that three-reach game and the homer, Lowe is now slashing .272/.366/.403. You can do a lot worse. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:17 pm
    • Exits after collision with wall
Arozarena exited Monday's 14-7 loss to the Red Sox in the bottom of the seventh inning, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Arozarena collided with the wall in foul territory and was removed from the game out of precaution according to manager Scott Servais, who expects the outfielder to be ready to go Tuesday versus Boston. The outfielder went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, a double and two runs scored in the contest prior to exiting. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:24 pm

    • Arozarena exits as precaution after wall collision
Randy Arozarena was removed from Monday’s game as a precaution innings after running into the wall in left field.

Advice: It was a 14-3 game when Arozarena was lifted, so it was unclear if the collision had anything to do with it. Arozarena didn’t get too banged up, fortunately, and it sounds like he’ll play Tuesday. The 29-year-old connected for his first round-tripper in a Seattle uniform against a familiar foe in Nick Pivetta during the sixth inning of the one-sided affair. He’s off to an extremely hot start for the Mariners with five hits in 11 at-bats over three games since last week’s trade from the Rays. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:23 pm

    • White Sox GM not ruling out extension for Crochet
White Sox GM Chris Getz said he remains open to signing Garrett Crochet for the long term, though he was disappointed about some of the pitcher’s recent comments.

Advice: Crochet has asked for a contract extension as part of a trade that would send him to a contender with aspirations of pitching in October. “We understand why a stance would be taken, " Getz said. “Now how you go about expressing that is what was a bit hurtful, quite honestly.” It’s very hard to say at this point whether a Crochet trade will get done. If it doesn’t happen now, though, an offseason divorce seems quite possible. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:58 pm
    • Report: Yankees talking to Tigers about Flaherty
The Yankees are in “extensive trade talks” for Jack Flaherty, according to USA TODAY’s Bob Nightengale.

Advice: A Flaherty acquisition would likely be followed by a Nestor Cortes trade out of New York. Flaherty is probably the top rental starter available, depending on how one views Blake Snell. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:49 pm

    • Currently slated to start Thursday
Tigers manager A.J. Hinch said Monday that Flaherty is scheduled to start Thursday against the Royals, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Advice: Flaherty almost surely isn't going to wind up taking the ball for the Tigers that day, however, as he's fully expected to be moved elsewhere prior to Tuesday's trade deadline. The righty had been scheduled to start Monday versus the Guardians, but the Tigers ultimately scratched him so as not to expose him to a potential injury ahead of the trade deadline. • Flaherty scratched from start, trade expected soon
Joel Sherman and Jon Heyman of the New York Post report that Jack Flaherty was scratched from his scheduled start against the Guardians on Monday in advance of a potential trade.

Advice: If the Tigers are pulling Flaherty from his start to protect him, that must mean that a deal is close. The Padres, Dodgers, Yankees and Astros are among the teams that are known to have expressed interest in the 28-year-old right-hander. Flaherty has had quite the resurgence with the Tigers this season, registering a 2.95 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and a 133/19 K/BB ratio over 106 2/3 innings in his 18 starts. Given his performance — and the number of teams believed to be involved — the Tigers should be able to do pretty well for themselves here. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:49 am

    • Gets scratched from start Monday
The Tigers scratched Flaherty from his scheduled start Monday against the Guardians, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Advice: Flaherty isn't dealing with an injury, but the Tigers will hold him out Monday and avoid the risk of exposing him to a setback on the health front that could jeopardize a potential trade ahead of Tuesday's deadline. Though no trade appears to be imminent at the moment, Flaherty will likely be a sought-after arm, given that he's on an expiring contract and has been dominant over his 18 starts with the Tigers this season (2.95 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 133:19 K:BB in 106.2 innings). The Tigers haven't named a replacement starter for Monday's contest. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:54 am
