    • Returning to lineup
Nimmo (illness) is starting in left field and batting third Saturday against the Marlins.

Advice: A stomach bug has kept Nimmo from starting the Mets' last two games, but the issue seems to have subsided prior to Saturday's contest. The 31-year-old outfielder has been in a bit of a slump at the plate lately, logging just one hit -- a two-run homer -- in 14 at-bats across his last five games. Rotowire.com Today, 10:24 am

    • Sitting versus lefty
Cruz isn't in the Pirates' lineup for Saturday's game versus the Cubs.

Advice: Left-hander Shota Imanaga will start on the mound Saturday for Chicago, meaning the lefty-hitting Cruz will step out of the lineup. Alika Williams will fill the opening at shortstop while batting ninth. Rotowire.com Today, 10:11 am

    • Brandon Nimmo returns to lineup on Saturday
Brandon Nimmo (illness) is back in the lineup for Saturday’s game against the Marlins.

Advice: Nimmo is back in New York’s lineup in left field and batting third following a two-game absence due to a stomach bug. The interesting twist here is that Francisco Lindor is up in the leadoff spot with lefty Braxton Garrett taking the hill for Miami. Rotoworld Today, 10:10 am

    • Oneil Cruz getting day off Saturday vs. Cubs
Oneil Cruz is not in the lineup for Saturday’s game against the Cubs.

Advice: It’s a routine off day for Cruz with lefty Shota Imanaga toeing the rubber for Chicago. The 25-year-old shortstop has hit a small rough patch of late, hitting .207 (6-for-29) over his last seven contests. He does have two homers and one steal during that stretch, but has also struck out eight times with only one walk as well. Rotoworld Today, 9:25 am

    • Secures fourth save
Fairbanks struck out one in a perfect ninth inning Friday to record his fourth save of the season in a 4-3 win over the Blue Jays.

Advice: The right-hander needed only six pitches (five strikes) to dispatch the heart of Toronto's order, setting down Bo Bichette, Vladimir Guerrero and Justin Turner. Fairbanks still isn't quite flashing his usual velocity -- he topped out at 97.3 mph with his fastball Friday after averaging 98.9 mph in 2023 -- but he hasn't seemed to miss the extra gear since coming off the IL, firing four straight hitless, scoreless appearances with a 6:0 K:BB. • Blake Snell strikes out 10 in rehab start Friday
Blake Snell (adductor) recorded 10 strikeouts over five hitless innings on Friday in a minor league rehab start for Triple-A Sacramento.

Advice: He’s ready. The plan all along had been for Snell to rejoin the Giants’ rotation next week as long as this start went well, and he was nearly perfect, allowing just one walk over five frames. The 31-year-old reigning NL Cy Young Award winner should slot back into San Francisco’s rotation against the Pirates in Pittsburgh next week. Prior to landing on the injured list, Snell had gone 0-3 with a bloated 11.57 ERA, 1.97 WHIP and 12/5 K/BB ratio across 11 2/3 innings (three starts). Rotoworld Today, 3:30 am

    • Lifts three-run homer
Garcia went 1-for-5 with a three-run home run in Friday's 6-2 win over the Athletics.

Advice: Garcia went deep as part of a five-run sixth inning that put the Royals in full control. The third baseman has hit safely in five straight games, adding two steals and four RBI in that span despite going a meager 5-for-22 (.227). Garcia's been held hitless in just three of 14 games in May, so he's still putting together decent at-bats despite not having an explosive offense. The 24-year-old is slashing .238/.286/.381 with five homers, 28 RBI, 21 runs scored and 10 steals through 44 contests overall. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:26 pm

    • Skubal allows one hit over six to improve to 6-0
Tarik Skubal allowed one hit in six scoreless frames to help the Tigers to a 13-0 drubbing of the Diamondbacks on Friday.

Advice: Skubal didn’t issue a walk and struck out six while improving to 6-0 on the season. The southpaw has had no issue carrying over the dominant finish to his 2023 campaign, and this strong outing lowered his ERA to 1.80 with a remarkable 66/8 K/BB. Simply put, SKubal has established himself as one of the true fantasy aces in baseball right now. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:23 pm
    • Six shutout innings for sixth win
Skubal (6-0) allowed just one hit and struck out six over six shutout innings to earn the win Friday over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: The Tigers' offense was explosive Friday, but Skubal was excellent in his own right in his best outing of the campaign. This was his sixth straight quality start, as well as the fourth time he's avoided walking a batter this season. The southpaw is now at a 1.80 ERA, 0.78 WHIP and 66:8 K:BB through 55 innings over nine starts. He's projected to make his next start at Kansas City. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:12 pm
