      Luis Gil held the Angels to one run with nine strikeouts over eight innings to earn the win on Wednesday.

      Advice: Gil was outstanding once again, holding the Angels to one run over eight frames. He allowed just two hits and two walks, giving up a solo homer to Logan O’Hoppe in the seventh inning. He struck out nine. It was the fifth consecutive start for Gil with at least six innings and no more than one run allowed. The 25-year-old right-hander will take an excellent 1.99 ERA, 0.95 WHIP, and a 79/31 K/BB ratio across 63 1/3 innings into a start against the Twins in New York on Tuesday.       Advice: The stolen base was notable because it's the first of the season for Bellinger, though he did miss some time with a fractured ribcage, which could have cut into his running. He had a career-high 20 steals last year as he reached the 20-20 plateau for the first time in seven MLB campaigns. Bellinger hasn't been quite as effective so far in 2024, though he's batting a solid .262 with a .774 OPS, and the 28-year-old has the talent to start racking up the counting stats in a hurry.       Advice: It was an abbreviated outing for Paxton on Wednesday afternoon at Citi Field as the veteran lefty took the ball on four days rest for the first time this season and was lifted after just 50 pitches (29 strikes). The 22-year-old southpaw's hit a rough patch of late, giving up three or more runs over five innings in each of his last four starts. Harrison's ERA is up to 4.15 through 12 starts (65 innings) this year with a 1.40 WHIP and 60:22 K:BB. He racked up five strikeouts and only handed out one free pass. It's an encouraging bounce-back effort from Dunning in his second start back from the IL -- he took the loss in his last outing against the Phillies, allowing five runs (three earned) in 3.1 innings. Overall, Dunning lowered his ERA to 3.94 with a 1.20 WHIP and 53:22 K:BB across nine starts (45.2 innings) this year. He's currently lined up for a home matchup with the Tigers in his next start.
