    • Moving to bullpen Wednesday
      Allen will be available out of the bullpen for Wednesday's game against the Royals, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.

      Advice: Allen had originally been in line to start Wednesday, but Cleveland will instead give the ball to Nick Sandlin for the first inning. Allen was lit up for seven earned runs in just 1.2 innings during his last start against Colorado and will presumably work in bulk relief against a Royals offense that ranks fourth in the American League with a .724 OPS.     • Clase notches 19th save in win over Royals
      Emmanuel Clase threw a scoreless ninth inning to close out an 8-5 win over the Royals on Tuesday.

      Advice: Clase struck out two and walked one en route to his 19th save of the season. The right-hander has a minuscule 0.30 ERA and has been the best closer in fantasy baseball this season, earning tons of draft-day value for whoever took him in their leagues. Rotoworld Today, 6:21 pm
       
    • Seth Lugo wears down late against Guardians
      Seth Lugo allowed five runs on six hits in six innings in a no-decision against the Guardians.

      Advice: Lugo started the game with three scoreless innings before allowing three runs in the fourth. However, he settled down and threw two more scoreless innings but the Royals brought him back out for the seventh where he allowed a single and a two-run home runs before being pulled from the game. Lugo posted a 27 percent CSW on the night and induced eight whiffs on 46 swings. He doesn’t miss many bats, but he has been tremendous this season with a 2.16 ERA.     • Bobby Miller (shoulder) to start this week at AAA
      Bobby Miller (shoulder) will make a minor league rehab start this week for Triple-A Oklahoma City.

      Advice: Miller dealt with some diminished velocity last weekend in his second minor league rehab start for Single-A Rancho Cucamonga, but the Dodgers reportedly aren’t concerned. The 25-year-old righty is slated to pitch against some higher-level minor-league competition this week before the club re-evaluates whether he’s ready to return to the majors.     • Gerrit Cole strikes out five on Tuesday at AA
      Gerrit Cole (elbow) struck out five over 3 1/3 scoreless innings on Tuesday in a minor league rehab start for Double-A Somerset.

      Advice: Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Tuesday that Cole will require “at least a few” rehab outings before making his season debut, but he looked extremely sharp in this one. The 33-year-old reigning AL Cy Young Award winner was reportedly sitting in the mid-to-upper 90’s with his fastball and threw 45 pitches (34 strikes). He’ll presumably make another rehab start this weekend and could return to New York’s starting rotation at some point in late June or early July. Rotoworld Today, 4:29 pm

    • Ranger Suárez trending towards starting in London
      Ranger Suárez (thumb) played catch on Tuesday without any issues or limitations.

      Advice: Phillies manager Rob Thomson told reporters Suárez is slated to throw a bullpen session on Wednesday and is trending towards taking the ball this weekend in London against the Mets. The 28-year-old southpaw is reportedly feeling much better of late after being hit by a comebacker last Saturday against the Cardinals.     • Needs multiple rehab starts
      Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Tuesday that Cole (elbow) will require "at least a few" minor-league rehab starts before returning from the 60-day injured list, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.

      Advice: Cole will make his first rehab start Tuesday with Double-A Somerset and is slated to throw 40-to-50 pitches in that outing. Assuming he adds around 10-to-15 pitches to each of his subsequent rehab starts, the righty would presumably require two additional outings at a minimum after Tuesday's appearance before slotting back into the Yankees rotation. With that in mind, Cole doesn't appear on track to make his 2024 Yankees debut until at least late June, provided he checks out fine physically during his rehab assignment.       Suarez (hand) played catch without any apparent issues Tuesday, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

      Advice: He gave a thumbs up to reporters afterward, and Phillies manager Rob Thomson was similarly upbeat about how Suarez checked out during Tuesday's workout. Suarez will throw a bullpen session Wednesday, and assuming that goes well, he's expected to be cleared to start against the Mets this weekend in London.       Matt Waldron went without a decision while allowing one run and two hits in 6 1/3 innings Monday against the Angels.

      Advice: Waldron was back down to 33% usage of the knuckler tonight after utilizing the pitch a career-high 55% of the time last time out. He was plenty effective, but he might have been even more so with more knuckler usage, considering that all seven hard-hit balls he allowed came on other pitches.
