    • Austin Riley (side) misses 10th consecutive game
Austin Riley (side) remained out of the lineup for Thursday’s showdown against the Cubs.

Advice: Riley remained out of Atlanta’s lineup for the 10th consecutive contest on Thursday afternoon at Wrigley Field recovering from an intercostal strain. The 27-year-old fantasy stalwart hasn’t played since May 12. The positive news here is that he was able to resume hitting on Wednesday without any issues. It’s unclear whether he’ll be ready to return for Friday’s series opener against the Pirates. Rotoworld 58 minutes ago

    • Robert Suarez nails down 14th save against Reds
Robert Suarez fired a scoreless 10th to pick up a save against the Reds on Thursday.

Advice: That’s already the 14th save of the season for Suarez; putting him at right around a 40-save pace at this stage of the season. The right-hander hasn’t just helped in that category, as the scoreless 10th puts his ERA at a sparkling 0.40 for the 2024 campaign. There were question marks about Suarez being a stopper for the Padres coming into the season. Over the first 50-plus games, that question has been answered rather emphatically. • Nick Lodolo “aiming to return on Monday”
According to The Enquirer’s Charlie Goldsmith, Nick Lodolo (groin) will throw a bullpen on Saturday and is “aiming to return on Monday.”

Advice: Lodolo threw a bullpen on Wednesday and felt good, so the bullpen on Saturday could be the final step to getting him back on the mound in an MLB game. That will mean his stay on the IL was the minimum amount of time, so the Reds feel that a rehab start is unnecessary. Rotoworld Today, 9:17 am

    • Missing another start
Riley (side) is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Cubs.

Advice: He'll remain on the bench for a 10th consecutive game while he continues to heal up from a left intercostal strain. Atlanta had initially viewed Riley as day-to-day when he departed an April 12 game against the Mets with the injury, but the club likely would have placed him on the 10-day injured list had they known the issue would have kept him out for more than a week. Riley was able to exhibit a sign of progress by taking swings on the field Tuesday, but it's not clear if he'll be on track to rejoin the starting nine during this weekend's three-game series in Pittsburgh. • Still on track for Monday return
Lodolo (groin) threw a successful extended bullpen session Wednesday and is set to throw off the mound again Saturday, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Advice: Assuming he comes out of Saturday's session without any hiccups, Lodolo will be set to return from the 15-day injured list to start against the Cardinals on Monday, the first day he'll be eligible for activation. The left-hander is working his way back from a left groin strain. Rotowire.com Today, 7:38 am

    • Back in slump
Arozarena went 1-for-4 with a walk Wednesday against the Red Sox.

Advice: Arozarena had a surge in power for the first two weeks of May with five homers in the first 12 games of the month, but he has struggled for the last week. In his last seven games, he has hit just .172 with a 29 percent strikeout to go along with three runs scored and no RBI. Arozarena's eight home runs and seven stolen bases for the season are salvaging his production, but that's paired with a .162 average and .262 wOBA. Rotowire.com Today, 6:49 am
    • Christian Walker homers in win over Dodgers
Christian Walker went 2-for-4 with a solo homer, a double, and two runs scored on Wednesday against the Dodgers.

Advice: Walker led off the sixth inning with a solo homer off Elieser Hernández to extend the Diamondbacks’ lead. He later doubled in the eighth and scored on a passed ball. The 33-year-old first baseman is pacing right in line with his 2023 season, hitting .257/.358/.458 with 10 homers and 32 RBI across 215 plate appearances. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:02 pm

    • Converts on sixth save
Scott earned the save Wednesday against Milwaukee, allowing one hit and no walks across a scoreless inning with one strikeout.

Advice: Scott is now 6-for-7 on save chances this season and has added four tallies in the win column. The 29-year-old has been charged with at least one earned run in just two of his 21 appearances, owning a 1.71 ERA with a 22:18 K:BB across 21.0 innings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:52 pm
    • Career day against Milwaukee
Luzardo (2-3) picked up the win Wednesday, allowing three hits and no walks with four strikeouts across eight scoreless innings against the Brewers.

Advice: Luzardo completed eight innings for the first time in his career, blanking Milwaukee in dominant fashion. All three hits allowed were singles and he didn't issue a walk for a second straight start. The southpaw retired 17 consecutive batters during the start, spanning the second to the eighth inning. He's been excellent in three starts since coming off the IL, owning a 0.92 ERA and a 19:1 K:BB over 19.2 innings. He'll look to keep the ball rolling Tuesday against the Padres.
