• Ohtani homers, pushes RBI streak to nine games
Shohei Ohtani went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Tuesday’s win over the White Sox.

Advice: Chris Flexen’s fifth pitch of the night turned into a 400-foot homer by Ohtani to kick off the first inning. Ohtani’s homer extended his RBI streak to nine games, which ties the Dodgers’ single-season record. Ohtani would drive in another run in the fourth on an RBI single, as he’s now driven in 16 runs over this nine-game span. Rotoworld 6 minutes ago

  • Yields one run in no-decision
Chirinos allowed one run on three hits and three walks over five innings in a no-decision against Kansas City on Tuesday. He struck out five.

Advice: Chirinos looked solid again in his second start this season, punching out five with eight whiffs in a 78-pitch performance. Considering Miami's injury woes in the rotation, the 30-year-old right-hander should remain a starter as he's posted a 2.70 ERA with 11:3 K:BB over 10 innings so far. Chirinos currently lines up for a difficult opponent in his next outing as he draws the Phillies on the road this weekend. Rotowire.com 10 minutes ago

  • Allows six runs in no-decision
Allen did not factor into the decision in Tuesday's 10-8 win over the Orioles, allowing six runs on nine hits and one walk with five strikeouts over three innings.

Advice: Allen surrendered at least one run in each inning he pitched, including three total home runs. He allowed back-to-back homers to open the fourth frame before being pulled at just 60 pitches. Allen had been off to a solid start in June, yielding six earned runs over 17 innings entering Tuesday, but this is now the third time this season he has been responsible for six or more earned runs in an outing. The young lefty owns a 5.72 ERA, 1.55 WHIP and 64:31 K:BB over 78.2 innings in 2024 and lines up to face the Royals this weekend. Rotowire.com 23 minutes ago

  • Gomber allows five earned runs in loss to Astros
Austin Gomber allowed eight hits and five earned runs over 5 1/3 innings in Tuesday’s loss to the Astros.

Advice: Gomber was tuned up for six hits and five earned runs in the first inning, as the Astros sent all nine hitters to the plate against the Rockies’ lefty. It was a flurry of singles off Gomber that resulted in the five-run frame, with the last resulting in a two-RBI hit by Chas McCormick. Gomber needed 33 pitches to get through the inning but later settled in to pitch 4 1/3 scoreless frames the rest of the way. Still, the early disaster proved to be too much for Gomber, as the Rockies managed just 00 hits on the night against the Astros. Gomber has allowed four earned runs or more in each of his last four starters. Fantasy managers should look elsewhere for starters next Monday, as he’s set to start against the Brewers. • Chirinos allows one earned run in win over Royals
Yonny Chirinos allowed three hits and one earned run over five innings in Tuesday’s win over the Royals.

Advice: Chirinos kept a potent Royals lineup at bay all evening, with his lone blemish coming in the first inning on a Vinny Pasquantino RBI single. Chirinos allowed six total baserunners on the evening, with three coming via the walk, but managed to pitch himself out of a few jams with runners in scoring position. A lack of run support left him on the hook for the loss before an RBI single by Nick Gordon in the seventh tied the game at 1-1. Through two starts, Chirinos is boasting a 2.70 ERA with 11 strikeouts to just three walks. He’ll look to pick up his first win of the season in his next start, which is set for Sunday against the Phillies. Rotoworld 41 minutes ago

  • David Peterson loses command in no decision
David Peterson allowed one run on three hits in 4 1/3 innings in a no-decision against the Yankees.

Advice: Peterson also struck out eight but walked five on the day. He was gifted a 6-1 lead, but he was unable to pitch deep enough to get the win as he walked two straight batters after getting the first out in the fifth inning and was removed before facing a right-handed batter. The left-hander had an impressive 31 percent whiff rate and 30 percent CSW on the day, but he struggled to find the zone with his fastball and now has 10 walks over his last three starts. He hasn’t been consistent since coming off the IL, but he has flashed some swing-and-miss that could keep him on the streaming radar. Rotoworld 48 minutes ago

  • Heaney allows two earned runs in loss to Brewers
Andrew Heaney allowed two earned runs over five innings while striking out four in Tuesday’s loss to the Brewers.

Advice: Heaney scattered two runs across five frames, allowing an RBI single to Jackson Chourio in the third inning and a solo homer to Joey Ortiz in the fifth. The veteran lefty did a nice job of limiting runs but received only one run of support from his offense, as he remains stuck on just two wins for the year. Sitting on a 2-8 record with a 4.17 ERA, Heaney could have a tough time earning that third win on Sunday when he’s set to take on the Orioles in Baltimore. Rotoworld 50 minutes ago

  • Edward Cabrera fans seven in Triple-A rehab start
Edward Cabrera (shoulder) struck out seven over four hitless innings on Tuesday in a minor league rehab start for Triple-A Jacksonville.

Advice: Cabrera issued two walks and threw 37 of 60 pitches for strikes in his latest rehab outings. The 26-year-old righty, who has been out since early May recovering from a right shoulder impingement, appears to be getting closer to returning to Miami’s injury-depleted starting rotation. • Graham Ashcraft starting Wednesday vs. Pirates
Graham Ashcraft will start on Wednesday against the Pirates.

Advice: Ashcraft will get the call back to the majors to take the ball in place of Nick Lodolo, who landed on the injured list with a blister issue. The 26-year-old righty holds a lackluster 5.05 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 49/21 K/BB ratio across 62 1/3 innings (12 starts) this season in the big leagues. Rotoworld 59 minutes ago
