• Evan Phillips (hamstring) could return Friday
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told reporters that Evan Phillips (hamstring) has a good chance to return to the Dodgers on Friday.

Advice: Phillips has looked the part in his rehab appearances as he works his way back from the hamstring injury that has sidelined the stopper since May 5. Once back on the roster, there’s every reason to believe that Phillips will receive the bulk of the save chances for Los Angeles, with Daniel Hudson and the rest of the Los Angeles bullpen serving as a bridge to Phillips. • Josh Winder reinstated from IL, optioned to AAA
Twins reinstated RHP Josh Winder off the 60-day injured list and optioned him to Triple-A St. Paul.

Advice: Winder is back on the 40-man roster, but the right-hander will continue to work in the minors rather than be a part of the Minnesota bullpen. He could be an option at some point this summer. Rotoworld Today, 11:09 am

  • Officially placed on injured list
The Pirates placed Perez on the 15-day injured list Tuesday with a left groin strain.

Advice: Perez injured his groin while covering first base during Sunday's start against Atlanta. He initially remained in the game before eventually being pulled. It's not clear at this point how long the southpaw might be sidelined. Quinn Priester will likely be recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis to replace Perez in the Pirates rotation. • Astros claim Kaleb Ort off waivers from Orioles
Astros claimed RHP Kaleb Ort off waivers from the Orioles.

Advice: Ort was designated for assignment by the Orioles after registering a 12.08 ERA in 14 games with Triple-A Norfolk. The right-hander will be organizational depth for Houston. Rotoworld Today, 10:56 am

  • Claimed by Houston
Ort was claimed off waivers by the Astros and optioned to Triple-A Sugar Land on Tuesday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Ort was acquired by the Orioles in February but struggled to a 12.08 ERA in 14 outings at Triple-A Norfolk, which led to him being removed from the 40-man roster. The 32-year-old made 21 appearances for the Red Sox last season and posted a 6.26 ERA and 1.57 WHIP over 23 innings, and he should serve as organizational depth for the Astros. • Martin Pérez officially heads to IL with groin injury
Pirates placed LHP Martin Pérez on the 15-day injured list with a left groin strain.

Advice: As expected, Pérez will miss at least two weeks while he deals with the groin injury that caused him to leave his start Sunday versus Atlanta. Pittsburgh didn’t add a pitcher as the corresponding transaction, but they’ll need to make a move to replace the southpaw in the rotation. Quinn Priester is likely that arm. Rotoworld Today, 10:55 am

  • Opening Tuesday's game
Miller will serve as the Giants' opening pitcher in Tuesday's game against the Phillies, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Miller was unavailable to pitch over the weekend due to a calf injury, but he appears to be fine now. He'll likely work an inning or two Tuesday before turning the game over the bullpen. Baggarly notes that the Giants have discussed recalling Spencer Howard from Triple-A Sacramento to serve as a bulk reliever Tuesday, though the team has yet to make any roster moves as of yet. • Shifts to 60-day IL
The Twins transferred Topa from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Tuesday with left patellar tendinitis.

Advice: The right-hander was diagnosed with a small tear in the patellar tendon of his left knee in mid-May and isn't expected to resume throwing for another month, so a move to the 60-day IL isn't much of a surprise. Topa was a key bullpen piece for Seattle last season with a 2.61 ERA and 24 holds in 75 appearances, but he's been sidelined by knee issues since late in spring training and won't be debuting for Minnesota until midseason, at least. • Nick Ramirez operating as 27th player for Dodgers
Nick Ramirez will be the 27th player for the Dodgers for their doubleheader Tuesday against the Mets.

Advice: Ramirez will be eligible to pitch in both games. He’ll then report back to Triple-A Oklahoma City, assuming the Dodgers don’t make a move after the game to place him on the official active roster. Rotoworld Today, 10:16 am
