Lively chased in fifth inning against Braves
Ben Lively allowed one run on four hits in 4 1/3 innings in a no-decision against the Braves on Sunday.
Advice: Lively also struck out five and walked two, but he was at 88 pitches with two runners on in the 5th when Stephen Vogt decided to remove him. Lively entered the fifth with a shutout and just two hits allowed, but he immediately gave up a hard lineout, then a double, and a single, and that was the end of his day. He did post an impressive 31 percent whiff rate and 27 percent CSW and has a 2.30 ERA as a member of the Guardians’ rotation this year. He’s firmly on the streaming radar next week against the Angels.
