Stott went 2-for-5 with four RBI in Saturday's 8-3 victory over the Marlins.

Advice: Stott's bases-clearing triple in the sixth inning put the Phillies ahead for what turned out to be for good. He also added an RBI single in the eighth. It's the second four-RBI game for Stott over his last 10 contests, and he's batting .375 with a couple homers and 13 RBI over that span. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:34 pm

Friedl went 1-for-5 with a double and an RBI in Friday's 4-2 win over the Giants.

Advice: Friedl's fourth-inning double was his first extra-base hit since returning from a fractured wrist. It also produced the go-ahead run for Cincinnati, which snapped an eight-game losing streak. Friedl is 4-for-18 with one stolen base in four contests since his return. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:19 am

    • Devin Williams (back) to resume throwing in May
Devin Williams (back) is scheduled to begin playing catch in two weeks.

Advice: Williams opened the season on the injured list recovering from a pair of stress fractures in his back and isn’t expected to return to Milwaukee’s closer role until around midseason. The 29-year-old All-Star stopper should kick off his throwing program in a few weeks, if not sooner, and be ready to progress to bullpen sessions at some point in June before starting a minor league rehab assignment. • Fans seven in second win
Ryan (2-2) picked up the win Friday, allowing one run on six hits over seven innings in a 3-2 victory over the Blue Jays. He struck out seven without walking a batter.

Advice: A solo shot by Isiah Kiner-Falefa accounted for the only blemish on Ryan's line. The right-hander fired 75 of 104 pitches for strikes in his longest outing of the season, as he produced his fourth straight quality start and sixth of the year. Ryan will take a 3.21 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 53:6 K:BB through 47.2 innings into his next start, which lines up to come at home next week against the Yankees. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:34 am

    • Nick Castellanos goes deep in victory over Marlins
Nick Castellanos clubbed his third home run of the season on Friday night as the Phillies crushed the Marlins in Miami.

Advice: Castellanos opened the scoring in the contest with his 400-foot (104.4 mph EV) solo shot off of Trevor Rogers in the second inning. That would be his only hit in five at-bats on the night. For the season, the 32-year-old slugger is hitting an underwhelming .207/.268/.303 with just three homers and 13 RBI. • Joe Ryan keeps Blue Jays quiet in victory
Joe Ryan pitched seven innings of one-run ball Friday in the Twins’ 3-2 defeat of the Blue Jays.

Advice: The lone run was a 365-foot homer from Isiah Kiner-Falefa. The ball barely rated as hard hit, leaving his bat at 95.5 mph, and was a homer in only 11 ballparks. It’s Ryan’s fourth straight quality start, and he still hasn’t allowed more than three earned runs in a game this season. Alas, the win tonight was only his second. Ryan will face the Yankees next. • Nearing throwing program
Manager Pat Murphy said Friday that Williams (back) is scheduled to begin playing catch within the next two weeks, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Advice: Williams will be looked at by a doctor within the next few days, which will help determine how far away he is from beginning a throwing program. Though he seems to be trending in the right direction, the 29-year-old closer is still not expected back until around the All-Star break. Rotowire.com Friday, 2:42 pm

    • Brewers place Joel Payamps on bereavement list
Brewers placed RHP Joel Payamps on the bereavement list.

Advice: The 30-year-old right-hander is expected to miss the Brewers’ entire weekend series against the Cardinals. Janson Junk was recalled from Triple-A Nashville in a corresponding move to take his place in the bullpen. Expect Bryan Hudson and Elvis Peguero to see action in the eighth inning to set up for closer Trevor Megill. Rotoworld Friday, 2:13 pm

    • Goes on bereavement
The Brewers placed Payamps on the bereavement list Friday.

Advice: Payamps will be away for a minimum of three games and a maximum of seven games. Trevor Megill had already seemed to inch ahead of Payamps in the Brewers' bullpen hierarchy and now over the next few days should have a clearer path to saves. Rotowire.com Friday, 1:22 pm
