• Giants recall Casey Schmitt from Triple-A
Giants recalled INF Casey Schmitt from Triple-A Sacramento.

Advice: The 25-year-old infielder will get another opportunity with the big league club with Marco Luciano (hamstring) heading to the injured list on Friday. Schmitt has struggled in his limited action this season, hitting just .136 (3-for-22) with one RBI and a 5/0 K/BB ratio. Look for Brett Wisely to see the bulk of the action at shortstop with Luciano shelved. Rotoworld Friday, 3:37 pm

  • Belts sixth homer
Bregman went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run, an additional run and a triple in Thursday's 4-0 win against Seattle.

Advice: Bregman broke a scoreless tie with his two-run blast in the fourth inning and came around to score Houston's final run following a triple in the sixth. It was the third multi-hit effort for the third baseman across his past five games, and he's batting .350 (7-for-20) with a pair of homers and four RBI over that stretch. Bregman could finally be getting his bat going following a rough start to the season that has his slash line still at a meager .218/.280/.360. Rotowire.com Thursday, 9:36 pm

  • Alex Bregman wallops two-run homer to defeat M’s
Alex Bregman went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer on Thursday, powering the Astros to a 4-0 victory over the Mariners.

Advice: Bregman broke up a scoreless stalemate with a fourth-inning shot -- his sixth round-tripper of the season -- to left field off Mariners ace Logan Gilbert. He also tripled and scored a run in the sixth inning to cap off a multi-hit performance. The 30-year-old impending free agent has gone deep twice in his last three games since being dropped to the fifth spot in Houston’s lineup. Rotoworld Thursday, 3:46 pm

  • Swipes fourth bag
Vargas went 1-for-3 with a run scored and a stolen base in Wednesday's win over Atlanta.

Advice: The 32-year-old utility player began the game on the bench but took over at third base when Nick Senzel fouled a ball off his knee in the second inning. Vargas has posted career-best numbers to begin this season, slashing .298/.383/.404 through 109 plate appearances with four steals, seven RBI and 11 runs. If Senzel misses any time, Vargas would be the next man up at the hot corner. Rotowire.com Thursday, 8:29 am

  • Crushes grand slam Wednesday
Henderson went 1-for-4 with a grand slam in Wednesday's 6-1 win over the Red Sox.

Advice: The majority of Baltimore's scoring output came on Henderson's second-inning, 422-foot grand slam. It was the young shortstop's second career grand slam and 18th homer of the campaign, tying him with Kyle Tucker for the MLB lead. Henderson also ranks seventh in the league with a .938 OPS. • Still not swinging
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Tuesday that Muncy is on a "slow program" due to lingering oblique soreness and isn't currently swinging a bat, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Advice: Muncy resumed baseball activities last Tuesday, but his progress has since been slowed by continued soreness in his oblique. The third baseman is already eligible to be activated off the IL, but given Roberts' comments, it doesn't seem like Muncy is on the cusp of returning. He'll almost certainly head out on a minor-league rehab assignment prior to rejoining Los Angeles' lineup. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 9:10 pm

  • Gunnar Henderson’s grand slam powers Orioles
Gunnar Henderson blasted a grand slam on Wednesday, powering the Orioles to a 6-1 victory over the visiting Red Sox.

Advice: The 22-year-old superstar changed the entire complexion of the ballgame in the second inning as he crushed a 1-0 cutter from Kutter Crawford for a 422-foot (109.2 mph EV) grand slam that gave the Orioles a 5-1 lead. It would be his only hit in four at-bats on the night, but was more than enough to propel his team to victory. Henderson is playing like he has his sights set on the American League MVP award this season — slashing .258/.354/.584 with 18 homers and 41 RBI. Rotoworld Wednesday, 7:18 pm
  • Homers again Wednesday
Gorman went 2-for-5 with a solo homer, an RBI double and two total runs scored in Wednesday's 5-3 win over Cincinnati.

Advice: Gorman extended the Cardinals' lead to 2-0 with an RBI double in the fourth inning before launching a home run off left-hander Brent Suter in the eighth, his 10th long ball of the year and second in as many games. After a sluggish start to the year, Gorman's started to turn things around, going 8-for-21 (.380) with seven RBI in his last six contests. He's boosted his slash line to .220/.308/.451 with 25 RBI, 23 runs scored and two stolen bases through 185 plate appearances this season. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 5:06 pm

  • Nolan Gorman goes 2-for-5, homers versus Reds
Nolan Gorman went 2-for-5 with a homer versus the Reds in Wednesday’s win.

Advice: The homer appeared to have no shot of exiting as it left his bat, but it kept carrying a projected 378 feet. It was Gorman’s 10th homer of the year. Five of those have come in his last 10 games. Rotoworld Wednesday, 1:40 pm
