• Jettisoned from 40-man roster
The Rays designated Devenski for assignment Tuesday, Tricia Whitaker of Bally Sports Sun reports.

Advice: The move comes after Devenski was scored upon Monday versus the Mariners for the third time in as many appearances. Devenski holds a 6.75 ERA in 19 relief outings in 2024 and will likely pass through waivers unclaimed. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 10:01 am
  • Blows first save of year
Harvey (2-3) took the loss and blew the save in Monday's extra-inning loss to the Padres, coughing up four runs (three earned) on three hits and two walks over two-thirds of an inning.

Advice: The right-hander is having a bumpy June, giving up runs in four of nine appearances en route to a 7.71 ERA, 2.14 WHIP and 10:6 K:BB in 9.1 innings. Monday's blown save was his first of the year though, and Harvey remains the Nationals' top set-up option ahead of closer Kyle Finnegan, having already racked up a career-high 23 holds. Should Washington become sellers at the trade deadline and send Finnegan to a contender, Harvey would almost certainly move into the ninth-inning role. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 7:57 am

  • Hunter Harvey gives up four runs to take loss
Hunter Harvey lost to the Padres after giving up four runs — three earned — in the 10th on Monday.

Advice: The Nationals gave Harvey a three-run lead to work with after Nick Senzel homered in the top of the 10th, but it wasn’t enough. Harvey retired just two of six batters before Jurickson Profar, following an intentional walk to Luis Arraez, delivered a game-winning single. Harvey could become the Nationals’ closer later this summer if Kyle Finnegan is traded, though it’s quite possible that neither or both will be moved. Rotoworld Monday, 10:20 pm

  • Tosses 5.2 scoreless frames Monday
Crochet took a no-decision against the Dodgers on Monday, allowing five hits and striking out six batters over 5.2 scoreless innings.

Advice: Crochet was on his game with 16 whiffs and six punchouts against one of MLB's top offenses, but Dodgers starter James Paxton traded scoreless frames with him, and both hurlers had to settle for a no-decision. Crochet continues to impress in what has been a breakout first campaign as a starter -- he lowered his ERA to 3.05 with Monday's outing and ranks second in the league with 130 strikeouts. The southpaw has given up three or fewer earned runs while going at least five frames in 11 consecutive starts. Rotowire.com Monday, 10:09 pm
  • Crochet strikes out six in scoreless start Monday
Garrett Crochet allowed no runs in 5 2/3 innings and got a no-decision against the Dodgers on Monday.

Advice: Crochet gave up five hits, walked none and struck out six. It was a pretty good effort considering he was facing the Dodgers, but the White Sox couldn’t score any runs to support Crochet. He was one out away from a quality start, breaking a streak of six consecutive quality starts. Crochet continues to build a potential Cy Young award case with a 3.05 ERA and 130 strikeouts on the season. There’s no doubt he’s been a fantasy MVP, though. The 25-year-old left-hander is set to face the Rockies at home this weekend. Rotoworld Jun 24, 8:10 pm
  • Selected by San Francisco
The Giants selected Burgos' contract from Triple-A Sacramento on Monday.

Advice: The move corresponds with the Giants designating Trenton Brooks for assignment. In nine games with Sacramento this season, Burgos has a 1.64 ERA, 0.82 WHIP and 23:2 K:BB over 22 innings. The 25-year-old southpaw will work out of the Giants' bullpen, likely as a multi-inning reliever. Rotowire.com Jun 24, 3:02 pm
  • Collects seventh hold
Garrett gave up a hit and struck out one in a scoreless eighth inning Sunday to record his seventh hold of the season in a win over the Cubs.

Advice: Edwin Diaz came on the ninth but got ejected for a foreign substance, and Jake Diekman wound up getting a one-out save as Mets manager Carlos Mendoza scrambled to fill in for his closer. Diaz is facing a 10-game suspension, and based on Mendoza's bullpen usage while the right-hander was out injured, Garrett should be viewed as the favorite to handle any save chances during that time. Diekman, Adam Ottavino, Drew Smith and even potentially Dedniel Nunez could all be factors in the ninth as well, however. Rotowire.com Jun 24, 8:11 am
  • In midst of throwing program
Speier (shoulder) has started his throwing program and will soon progress to throwing bullpen sessions, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Speier has apparently moved through his catch sessions without setbacks thus far, so the next phase of his recovery could be imminent. Once Speier has thrown some bullpen sessions without issue, he'll be sent on a rehab assignment. Rotowire.com Jun 22, 9:22 pm
