• Returning after one-game absence
Westburg (illness) will start at second base and bat seventh in Monday's game versus the Yankees.

Advice: Westburg sat out Sunday's 7-6 loss to the Athletics because of a stomach bug, but he's feeling well enough to return to the lineup a day later. The 25-year-old has produced a .903 OPS in 25 games for the Orioles this season. Rotowire.com Today, 12:36 pm

  • Resting Monday
Brujan is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Nationals.

Advice: Brujan will hit the bench for the series finale after he had started at third base in each of Miami's last three games while going 6-for-11 with two triples, three runs and one RBI. Though Emmanuel Rivera will get the nod at the hot corner Monday, Brujan's hot hitting of late should gave him the leg up in terms of playing time at the position until Jake Burger (intercostal) returns from the 10-day injured list. • Tigers reinstate Andy Ibáñez from the IL
Tigers activated INF Andy Ibáñez from the injured list.

Advice: Ibáñez was off to a solid start, hitting .267/.235/.267 across his first seven games while playing mainly second base or third base. In his absence, Matt Vierling has played well, and it’s unclear just what kind of role Ibáñez will be coming back to. More than likely, he’ll be a versatile bench piece for the Tigers. Buddy Kennedy was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move. Rotoworld Today, 12:00 pm

  • On bench versus righty
Baty is out of the lineup for Monday's game versus the Cubs, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

Advice: The Cubs have right-hander Jameson Taillon on the mound, but the Mets are rewarding the right-handed-hitting Mark Vientos with a start at third base after he hit a walk-off home run in Sunday's 11-inning win over the Cardinals. Baty is just 3-for-25 at the plate over his last nine games. Rotowire.com Today, 11:31 am

  • Leaves yard in win
Nevin went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and an additional run in a win over the Orioles on Sunday.

Advice: Nevin proved key to the Athletics' late-game rally with his seventh-inning solo shot, inching Oakland to within a run at the time. It was Nevin's second time leaving the yard in his last four games, and he extended his hitting streak to six games in the process. The 26-year-old has served as one of the most reliable bats in a highly inconsistent A's offense, now sporting a .286/.342/.400 slash line through 76 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 9:13 am

  • Pablo Reyes designated for assignment
Red Sox have designated INF Pablo Reyes for assignment.

Advice: The Red Sox needed to make a move to the active roster in order to make room for recently acquired Garrett Cooper. With Ceddanne Rafaela now a full-time infielder and Vaughn Grissom on his way back from the injured list, Reyes was less needed in Boston. The 30-year-old is hitting .183/.234/.217 in 64 plate appearances with five RBI and one steal. There is a chance that he latches on with somebody else as versatile infield depth. • Exits 40-man roster
The Red Sox designated Reyes for assignment Monday.

Advice: Boston needed to clear a spot on their 26-man active roster and 40-man roster for first baseman/designated hitter Garrett Cooper, and Reyes ended up being the casualty. Reyes slashed a solid .287/.339/.377 for Boston last season but has managed just a .183/.234/.217 batting line over 61 plate appearances in 2024. Teams are always looking for versatile players, so even with his poor start, Reyes could draw some interest via trade or waivers. Rotowire.com Today, 8:15 am

  • Steals home Sunday
Vargas went 2-for-5 with a double, a run scored and a stolen base in Sunday's win over the Marlins.

Advice: With one out in the sixth inning, Vargas cracked a double off Bruch Smith, advanced to third on a single, then raced home as part of a double steal with Trey Lipscomb. Vargas got the start at second base Sunday with lefty Ryan Weathers on the mound for Miami, and a short-side platoon role at the keystone might be all that's available for the 32-year-old utility player right now with Lipscomb, Nick Senzel and Luis Garcia all producing at the plate. Vargas has been making an impact of his own when he gets the chance though, slashing .304/.396/.413 through 53 plate appearances with two steals, four RBI and five runs. Rotowire.com Today, 8:07 am

  • Three runs in comeback win
Lipscomb went 3-for-4 with three runs scored and a stolen base in Sunday's win over the Marlins.

Advice: Getting the start at third base and batting sixth, Lipscomb played a big role as the Nationals made a stunning comeback from an early 7-0 deficit, eventually winning 12-9. The rookie has been getting consistent playing time since returning to the majors April 24, and he's responded with three straight multi-hit performances to boost his slash line on the season to .292/.356/.354 with one homer, five steals, four RBI and 13 runs in 73 plate appearances. Lipscomb has started all three of those games at third base, while Nick Senzel handles DH duties and Jesse Winker moves to left field. Expect the Nats to continue finding room for Lipscomb in the lineup as long as he's swinging a hot bat. Rotowire.com Today, 8:00 am
