      Jarren Duran went 4-for-5 with a leadoff homer and two RBI on Thursday, leading the Red Sox to a 14-2 blowout victory over the White Sox.

      Advice: Duran spearheaded Boston’s 24-hit barrage on Thursday evening at Guaranteed Rate Field with a tone-setting leadoff homer against White Sox starter Jake Woodford. He also added a sixth-inning sacrifice fly and matched a season-high with four hits. It was the first time he’s accomplished the feat since back on April 3.       Advice: Duran legged out his league-leading ninth triple in the fifth inning before putting the final touch on Boston's convincing victory with a solo homer off Jimmy Herget in the eighth, extending the lead to 9-0. Duran now has three multi-hit efforts in his last four contests after going just 2-for-28 in his previous seven games.       Josh Lowe, who didn’t start Tuesday in his return from the injured list, is in the lineup for Wednesday’s game against the Marlins.

      Advice: Josh Lowe, Brandon Lowe and Ben Rortvedt are all starting for the Rays today, even though the Marlins are throwing a left-hander in Braxton Garrett. Factoring in big time there is that the Rays also faced left-handers on Sunday and Tuesday, had Monday off and have another day off tomorrow; they can’t have all of their lefties sitting around that long without playing. Josh Lowe is less likely to be treated as a true platoon guy than the Rays’ other left-handed hitters, assuming that he can stay healthy from here and resume producing like he did last season.
