    • Clubs sixth homer
Burger went 1-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in Thursday's loss to the Mets.

Advice: The third baseman appears to be breaking out of his early season slump. Burger has hit safely in 11 of his last 12 games, slashing .333/.373/.479 over that stretch and going yard twice in the last four contests. His 31.4 percent strikeout rate during that time is still a concern, however. On the season, the 28-year-old is batting .228 with only six homers in 47 games, a far cry from the 34 in 141 games he slugged in 2023. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:40 am

    • Burger blasts sixth home run Thursday
Jake Burger went 1-for-3 with a walk and a home run against the Mets on Thursday.

Advice: Burger’s home run was just his sixth of the season in 47 games after homering 34 times in 141 games last year. His .128 ISO isn’t even half of the .268 ISO he had last year. On the bright side, he’s 21-for-64 (.328) with three home runs in his last 16 games to bring his average up to .222. Rotoworld Thursday, 7:00 pm

    • Initiates rehab assignment Tuesday
Marte (suspension) began a rehab assignment Tuesday and is a combined 3-for-10 with a double and two runs scored in two games for Triple-A Louisville.

Advice: Marte, who is in the final two weeks of an 80-game suspension after testing positive for a banned substance (Boldenone), served at third base Tuesday then designated hitter Wednesday and played all nine innings in each contest. He's eligible to return from suspension June 27. Marte slashed .316/.366/.456 in 35 games and 123 plate appearances in the big leagues last season and is expected to be the team's primary third baseman once ready. Rotowire.com Thursday, 5:23 am

    • Jordan Westburg gets a day off on Wednesday
Jordan Westburg is not in the Orioles’ lineup against the Braves on Wednesday.

Advice: It’s a routine day off for the 25-year-old who has struggled to open the month of June, hitting .208/.224/.438 with two home runs, 11 strikeouts, and one walk in 11 games. Perhaps a day off will get him back on track. Jorge Mateo will move to second base with Ramon Urias at third base while Westburg is out. Rotoworld Wednesday, 12:11 pm

    • Getting rest Wednesday
Westburg is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against Atlanta.

Advice: Westburg will retreat to the bench Wednesday for what appears to be a routine maintenance day after he had started in 11 consecutive games. His absence will open up a spot in the starting nine for Ramon Urias, who will get the nod at third base. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 11:57 am

    • Noelvi Marte has two hits in Triple-A season debut
Noelvi Marte went 2-for-5 with a double on Tuesday for Triple-A Louisville.

Advice: Marte was back in minor-league action on Tuesday evening for the first time this season as he has less than 20 games left on a league-issued 80-game suspension following a positive test for a performance-enhancing substance. Cincinnati’s infield picture is a lot less crowded at this juncture than it was back in spring training, so he has a pretty clear path to regular at-bats once he’s eligible to return. • Noelvi Marte in lineup Tuesday night at Triple-A
Noelvi Marte is in the lineup on Tuesday for Triple-A Louisville.

Advice: Marte is in the closing stages of a league-issued 80-game suspension after testing positive for a performance-enhancing substance and figures to return to Cincinnati when first eligible. The 22-year-old corner infielder will get a handful of minor league contests under his belt to get back up to speed before returning to the majors. Rotoworld Tuesday, 2:21 pm

    • Salvages day with late homer
Burger went 1-for-4 with a solo home run during Sunday's 6-3 loss to the Guardians.

Advice: Burger went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts in his first three plate appearances Sunday but flipped his production in the ninth inning with a solo homer off Emmanuel Clase. The long ball was his fifth of the year and just his second in 31 games. On the season, Burger owns a .597 OPS but is striking out at a 24.4 percent clip, which would be a career low if it holds. • Homer short of cycle
Westburg went 3-for-5 with a double, a triple and two runs scored during Sunday's 9-2 win over Tampa Bay.

Advice: Westburg hit a triple for the second consecutive game, bringing his season total to five triples -- tied for the fourth-most in baseball. The third baseman did most of his damage against the bullpen, with his triple coming off Phil Maton in the eighth inning and his final hit (a single) coming off Pete Fairbanks in the ninth. Westburg is 6-for-14 with a homer, three RBI and three runs over the first three games of the O's four-game set against Tampa Bay. Rotowire.com Sunday, 2:56 pm
