• Rocked for eight runs Saturday
Rogers (0-5) took a loss Saturday in Oakland, allowing eight runs on eight hits and three walks over just 2.1 innings.

Advice: Rogers gave up a couple runs in the second inning and then the wheels really came off in the third, as he was tagged for six runs during what turned out to be a 10-run inning for the Athletics. It's a disastrous performance in what should have been a favorable matchup for the left-hander. Rogers will carry a 6.15 ERA into his next start, which is expected to be against the Phillies at home. • Earns first save of 2024
Cano allowed one walk but retired the final two batters of Saturday's game against the Reds to earn his first save of the season.

Advice: Craig Kimbrel was pulled from the game after allowing two hits and a walk in the bottom of the ninth. Cano entered and walked the first batter he faced to load the bases, but the 30-year-old ultimately worked his way out of it with a strikeout and a flyout. Kimbrel earned the save in Friday's game, but Kimbrel had back-to-back blown saves to end April and has been nursing a back issue recently. If Kimbrel needs some time to get right, Cano would presumably step into the closer's role after he recorded eight saves and 31 holds a season ago. Rotowire.com 25 minutes ago
  • Nails down 11th save
Holmes gave up a hit and struck out two in 1.1 scoreless innings Saturday to record his 11th save of the season in a 5-3 win over the Tigers.

Advice: The right-hander is tied with the Cardinals' Ryan Helsley for the league lead in saves. Holmes kept his ERA a pristine 0.00 with Saturday's performance, although he did give up three unearned runs in his one blown save, and through 15 innings he's delivered a 0.92 WHIP and 18:1 K:BB. • Brent Rooker powers A’s in 20-run explosion
Brent Rooker went 3-for-4 with two homers and five RBI in a 20-4 win over the Marlins on Saturday.

Advice: With a runner on in the third inning, Rooker took Trevor Rogers deep for a two-run homer. The A’s would bat around the order, adding five more runs before Rooker blasted a three-run shot for his second of the inning in Oakland’s offensive explosion. He added a walk and a base hit, ending his day slashing .240/.329/.600 with eight homers and 20 RBI across 85 plate appearances. Rotoworld 30 minutes ago

  • Fans seven in third win
Schmidt (3-1) picked up the win Saturday over the Tigers, giving up three runs on four hits over five innings. He struck out seven without walking a batter.

Advice: The right-hander tied his season high in strikeouts while generating 33 called or swinging strikes among his 91 pitches. Schmidt has been remarkably consistent to begin the season, allowing between one and three runs in every start and completing five innings in six of seven outings, although he has yet to last a full six frames. He'll take a 3.50 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 41:13 K:BB through 36 innings into his next start, which is scheduled to come next weekend in Tampa Bay. Rotowire.com 31 minutes ago

  • Shea Langeliers goes deep in A’s win over Marlins
Shea Langeliers went 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBI against the Marlins in Saturday.

Advice: Langeliers tripled in the second inning and scored the first run of the game on a base hit by Darell Hernaiz. He added a single to lead off the seventh and came around to score on a double by JJ Bleday. With the game already out of hand, he made it 20 runs for Oakland with a three-run homer in the eighth inning. The 26-year-old slugger is batting .186/.246/.441 with seven homers and 16 RBI across 114 plate appearances. Rotoworld 32 minutes ago

  • JJ Bleday slugs three-run homer in A’s win
JJ Bleday went 3-for-4 with a home run and four RBI against the Marlins on Saturday.

Advice: Bleday drew a walk in the second inning, then broke the game open with a three-run homer off Trevor Rogers in the third. He later led off the sixth with a base hit and scored on a home run by Brett Harris. Bleday plated a fourth run with a double in the seventh for good measure. The 26-year-old outfielder is slashing .255/.328/.455 with four homers and 13 RBI across 122 plate appearances. Rotoworld 33 minutes ago

  • Trevor Rogers hit for eight runs in loss to A’s
Trevor Rogers surrendered eight runs over 2 1/3 innings in a loss against the Athletics on Saturday.

Advice: After a scoreless first inning, the A’s got on the board with two runs in the second on three hits and a walk. Rogers would record just one out in the third. Brent Rooker took him deep for a two run shot to star the frame, then JJ Bleday would break it open with a three-run homer before Rogers would leave with a runner on. The 26-year-old left-hander ends the day with a bloated 6.15 ERA, 1.72 WHIP, and a 28/15 K/BB ratio across 33 2/3 innings. He lines up for a start against the Phillies in Miami on Friday. • Alec Bohm leaves game with right hip tightness
Alec Bohm was removed from Saturday night’s game against the Giants due to tightness in his right hip.

Advice: The Phillies are calling his early exit only a precautionary measure, and for the time being the 27-year-old third baseman is considered day-to-day. Fantasy managers should pay close attention to his status on Sunday though just to be on the safe side. Rotoworld Today, 6:04 pm
