• Tallies three hits Monday
Keith went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI in Monday's 8-3 loss to the Royals.

Advice: While Keith is batting just .214 overall, he's been better in May with a .350 batting average across 14 games. It's a promising development for the rookie, who batted .306 across two levels in the minors last season. It can take young players some time to translate minor-league production into MLB success, but it seems like Keith is starting to turn the corner, and he has the talent to finish his debut campaign on a high note. • Massey has three-hit game Monday
Michael Massey went 3-for-4 with a double, a solo home run and two runs scored against the Tigers on Monday.

Advice: Massey started the scoring with a home run in the bottom of the second and later doubled, but his most impactful hit of the night was likely his 101 mph line drive single that hit Tigers starter Reese Olson in the hip and knocked him out of the game. The home run was Massey’s fifth of the year. He’s off to a really nice start as he’s hitting .284 with an .805 OPS and has 19 RBI in 27 games this season.

  • Otto Lopez contributes game-tying hit vs. Brewers
Otto Lopez hit a game-tying single in the ninth inning on Monday in the Marlins eventual extra-inning win over the Brewers.

Advice: Lopez came through with a clutch single to right field against Brewers closer Trevor Megill, which allowed Nick Gordon to race around and score easily from second base. The 25-year-old finds himself playing regularly for the Marlins at the moment and has come through with a solid .296/.339/.519 triple-slash line with three homers and two steals in 59 plate appearances so far. • X-rays negative on Joey Ortiz’s foot
Joey Ortiz said X-rays on his sore right foot taken after Monday’s game came back negative.

Advice: There’s always the chance that X-rays taken right after the incident fail to pick something up, but hopefully, this means Ortiz will be fine to play again in a day or two. He was hit on the right foot by a pitch Monday, though he stayed in to finish the game. Rotoworld 43 minutes ago

  • Headed for X-rays
Ortiz is getting X-rays on his right foot after being hit by a pitch in the fourth inning Monday against the Marlins, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Advice: Ortiz was able to finish out the game, but it was still bothering him in the clubhouse after the loss, and skipper Pat Murphy noted that the injury may be more serious than initially thought, per Paige Leckie of MLB.com. Andruw Monastero put together a multi-hit evening and could be in line for more looks at the hot corner if Ortiz requires a trip to the injured list. Oliver Dunn is another option at third base, though it would require Milwaukee to elevate him from Triple-A Nashville. Rotowire.com 49 minutes ago

  • Joey Ortiz requires X-rays for right foot injury
Joey Ortiz is getting X-rays on his right foot after getting hurt Monday.

Advice: Ortiz finished the game after getting hit in the foot by a pitch, but he was still in pain afterwards. If it turns out to be a significant injury, the Brewers could bring back Oliver Dunn and mix and match at third. Sal Frelick might be a part of that, too. Rotoworld 52 minutes ago

  • Pops fourth homer
Garcia went 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in Monday's victory over the Twins.

Advice: Garcia put Washington ahead with his 378-foot, two-run home run in the second inning off starter Pablo Lopez. The 24-year-old second baseman entered the game on a cold spell in which he hit .091 (3-for-33) over his previous nine games while battling wrist and heel ailments. Hopefully this performance is a sign that Garcia is feeling healthy as he's batting .281 on the season in 145 plate appearances. Rotowire.com 55 minutes ago

  • Luis García Jr. homers in Nats’ blowout victory
Luis García Jr. went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer and three RBI on Monday, lifting the Nationals to a 12-3 blowout win over the Twins.

Advice: García put the Nationals ahead with a two-run shot off Twins ace Pablo López in the second inning -- his fourth round-tripper of the season -- before adding a run-scoring single a couple frames later. The 24-year-old second baseman is finally starting to make the leap offensively at the highest level this season, batting .281 (38-for-135) with four homers and seven steals in 39 contests so far.
