    • Luis Arraez returns to lineup Tuesday vs. Angels
Luis Arraez (shoulder) is back in the lineup for Tuesday’s showdown against the Angels.

Advice: Arraez is back at designated hitter and leading off on Tuesday night in Los Angeles following a brief one-game absence due to a relatively minor shoulder issue. The 27-year-old contact-oriented infielder has been excellent since arriving in San Diego, batting .391 (43-for-110) with one homer and three steals across 26 contests. Rotoworld Today, 3:50 pm

    • Rejoining lineup Tuesday
Arraez (shoulder/neck) is batting leadoff as the designated hitter Tuesday against the Angels.

Advice: The 27-year-old sat out Monday's contest due to the shoulder/neck injury he suffered on a slide Sunday, and he'll be eased back into the lineup Tuesday in a non-defensive capacity. Arraez is in the midst of an eight-game hit streak, during which he's batting .375 with no extra-base hits, five RBI and five runs. Rotowire.com Today, 3:38 pm

    • Masataka Yoshida starting rehab assignment this weekend
Red Sox manager Alex Cora confirmed Tuesday that Masataka Yoshida (thumb) is expected to start a minor league rehab assignment this weekend.

Advice: Yoshida has been on the shelf since the start of May due to a left thumb strain, but managed to avoid surgery. The 30-year-old is going to need some time to get back up to speed in the minors before returning to Boston’s lineup mix at designated hitter. Rotoworld Today, 1:36 pm

    • Nathaniel Lowe returns to lineup Tuesday vs. Tigers
Nathaniel Lowe is back in the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Tigers.

Advice: Lowe is back at first base and batting fifth for the first time in three contests as he got an extended break to reset mentally. The 28-year-old slugger is batting .256 (34-for-133) with two homers and one steal in 39 games since making his season debut back in late April. Rotoworld Today, 1:21 pm

    • Back in action
Vaughn (finger) will play first and bat second for Tuesday's game against the Cubs.

Advice: Vaughn sprained his left ring finger over the weekend and missed the entirety of the White Sox's three-game series with the Brewers. However, after a team day off Monday, Vaughn will return to the ChiSox lineup in time for a matchup with its Chicago counterpart. Rotowire.com Today, 1:08 pm

    • Andrew Vaughn back in lineup Tuesday vs. Cubs
Andrew Vaughn (finger) is back in the lineup for Tuesday’s series opener against the Cubs.

Advice: Vaughn is back at first base on Tuesday night after missing three straight games due to left finger sprain. It doesn’t sound like a serious concern moving forward. Rotoworld Today, 1:02 pm

    • Luis Arraez (shoulder) doesn’t play against Angels
Luis Arraez, day-to-day with a shoulder injury, was quite obviously not available as a pinch-hitter Monday in a 2-1 loss to the Angels.

Advice: Padres manager Mike Shildt indicated before the game that Arraez might be available off the bench tonight but then held him out while using David Peralta and Tyler Wade as pinch-hitters in the seventh and ninth innings, respectively. It could be a sign that the Padres are downplaying their concern with Arraez’s shoulder after he was injured Sunday. We’ll check back in on Tuesday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:19 pm

    • Bregman blasts ninth home run in win Monday
Alex Bergman went 1-for-4 with a solo home run against the Cardinals on Monday.

Advice: The home run was Bregman’s ninth of the season. With the Astros trailing by one in the eighth inning, he homered off JoJo Romero to tie the game. Bregman is still hitting just .229 on the season, but his .234 BABIP is significantly lower than his career .280 BABIP. He hit .262 with a .270 BABIP last year so his average should pick up and his .176 ISO is right in line with his .178 ISO last year when he hit 25 home runs. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:29 pm

    • Seven strong innings in win
Wheeler (7-3) earned the win Monday against Milwaukee, allowing one earned run on five hits and three walks over seven innings. He struck out six.

Advice: Wheeler nearly pitched seven shutout innings, but he surrendered a solo home run to former teammate Rhys Hoskins with two outs in the seventh inning. Wheeler turned in his fourth consecutive quality start Monday, bringing his season total to 10. Wheeler has pitched to a 2.23 ERA and 0.97 WHIP with 91 strikeouts in 80.2 innings this season, all of which rank top 10 in the league. He will look to keep rolling in his next start, tentatively scheduled for next Tuesday in Boston. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:10 pm
