      Advice: The Rockies were able to pick up three homers off DJ Herz, and Tovar hit a solo shot off Herz in the third for his 12th homer of the year. The 22-year-old shortstop has put together a very strong first half of 2024 in his second full season with a .280 average, 799 OPS and 36 RBI.       Ryan Pepiot allowed two earned runs in 3 1/3 on Friday against the Pirates. He walked four and struck out three.

      Advice: Pepiot started strong with three punch outs in his first three innings and held a big lead. He looked to be in complete control until a lead-off walk to Rowdy Tellez in the bottom of the fourth and wouldn’t make it through the inning. His line could’ve been worse as he left the game with the bases loaded and one out, but Colin Poche got out of the jam with a double-play ball. It seemed he didn’t have a feel for his slider in this one as he threw just three.
