    • Juan Soto (forearm) could wind up on the 10-day IL
Yankees’ manager Aaron Boone told reporters on Saturday that there’s a possibility superstar outfielder Juan Soto winds up on the 10-day injured list with his forearm injury.

Advice: As of now they’re taking things day-to-day, but Boone has already said that Soto won’t play this weekend and his status for Monday’s series opener against the Royals in Kansas City remains in the air. If he’s not ready by then, expect the Yankees to utilize a short stint on the injured list. Rotoworld Today, 1:58 pm

    • Remains out Saturday
Soto (forearm) isn't in the Yankees' lineup for Saturday's game against the Dodgers.

Advice: Soto will miss a second consecutive game since making an early exit from Thursday's contest. The Yankees are optimistic that the slugging outfielder will be able to avoid a trip to the injured list, but manager Aaron Boone said Saturday that it will likely be a few more days before Soto gets back into the lineup, per Bryan Hoch of MLB.com. In the meantime, Trent Grisham will continue to start in center field while Aaron Judge fills the void in right. Rotowire.com Today, 1:00 pm

    • Juan Soto remains out Saturday with forearm injury
Juan Soto (forearm) remains out of the lineup for Saturday’s highly-anticipated showdown against the Dodgers.

Advice: Soto will miss his second straight contest on Saturday evening after being held out of Friday’s series opener against Los Angeles due to left forearm inflammation. The positive news here for fantasy managers is that it sounds like the 25-year-old fantasy superstar isn’t facing an extended absence after additional testing didn’t reveal any ligament damage or other structural issues. However, it’s a tough development since this is shaping up to be one of the most exciting regular-season series of the year. He’s presumably day-to-day for now. Rotoworld Today, 12:42 pm

    • Getting rest Saturday
Springer is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Athletics.

Advice: Springer went 0-for-4 in the series opener Friday, and he has failed to register a hit over his last three games. The 34-year-old is slashing .202/.292/.305 with five home runs and 13 RBI over 243 plate appearances this season. With Springer out of Saturday's lineup, Daulton Varsho and Davis Schneider will occupy right and left field, respectively, while Spencer Horwitz makes his 2024 debut at second base against Oakland right-hander Luis Medina. • Goes deep Friday
Mountcastle went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a hit-by-pitch in Friday's 6-3 win over the Rays.

Advice: Mountcastle has homered three times over four games versus the Rays this season. The first baseman is batting .349 (22-for-63) with five long balls and 13 RBI over his last 16 contests. For the season, Mountcastle has a strong .281/.321/.509 slash line with 11 homers, 31 RBI, 34 runs scored, two stolen bases and 16 doubles over 57 games. He's shown modest growth from last year's .270/.328/.452 slash line, and he's also cut his strikeouts down from 22.8 percent to 21.2 percent year-over-year. Rotowire.com Today, 10:07 am
    • Alex Bregman reaches three times Friday in return
Alex Bregman went 2-for-4 with a walk on Friday in his return to the Astros’ lineup.

Advice: Bregman didn’t skip a beat, reaching base safely in three of his five plate appearances following a brief one-game absence due to left hand soreness. The 30-year-old impending free agent seems like he’ll be good to go moving forward without any lingering concerns. Rotoworld Today, 4:22 am
    • Not slowed by brief absence
Bregman went 2-for-4 with a walk and a run scored Friday against the Angels.

Advice: Bregman returned to the lineup after a one-game absence caused by a hand injury. He extended his hitting streak to nine games in his return Friday, and he's gone 14-for-35 with five homers, eight RBI and 10 runs scored in that span. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:48 pm
    • Boone: Soto ‘wasn’t an option’ Friday vs. Dodgers
Yankees manager Aaron Boone told reporters after Friday’s extra-innings loss to the Dodgers that Juan Soto (forearm) wasn’t available.

Advice: Soto left Thursday’s game with inflammation in his forearm, and there was some speculation that the outfielder could be available off the bench for Friday’s contest. Several possibilities passed where Soto could have entered, but Boone kept the outfielder on the bench. It’s possible that the slugger could return over the weekend, but the Yankees aren’t going to rush the superstar back. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:44 pm

    • Yelich has three hits in route over Tigers Friday
Christian Yelich went 3-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base against the Tigers on Friday.

Advice: The stolen base was his ninth of the season. Yelich continues to swing a hot bat at the plate as he’s up to .324 on the season with a .934 OPS. The 32-year-old outfielder is in the top 15 in all of baseball in wRC+ (min. 150 plate appearances). Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:38 pm
