He's on a 13.2-inning scoreless streak -- the only run he's allowed this year came in his season debut after he started the year on the injured list.       Advice: Pfaadt pitched into the seventh inning for the second start in a row, but it resulted in him giving up a three-run home run to Ryan Jeffers that tied the game at 4-4. Arizona got the lead back in its half of the frame, but Pfaadt was already out of the game, leaving the win to reliever Kevin Ginkel. Through five starts in June, Pfaadt has allowed 17 runs over 30 innings with a 23:12 K:BB. He's now at a 4.45 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 86:24 K:BB through 97 innings through 16 starts this season.       Brandon Pfaadt surrendered four runs in 6 1/3 innings Tuesday in a no-decision against the Twins.

      Advice: Byron Buxton homered off Pfaadt in the fifth, but that was the only run he allowed until the seventh, when he gave up a three-run shot to Ryan Jeffers. He was at just 80 pitches at the time, so fatigue probably wasn’t much of an issue. Still, it’s hard to go through a quality lineup three times. Pfaadt remained 3-6 with a 4.45 ERA.       Paul Sewald recorded his 10th save with a scoreless ninth inning Tuesday against the Twins.

      Advice: Sewald gave up a two-out double to Byron Buxton, putting the tying run on base. Ryan Jeffers followed with a stinging liner to left, but it was hit right to Lourdes Gurriel Jr., ending the game.       Gerrit Cole said after Tuesday’s start that he’s healthy and that he intentionally dialed back his velocity tonight after a long first inning.

      Advice: Cole topped out at 98.9 mph in the first tonight, but he was often throwing 92-93 mph in the second. He did pick it up some in the end, throwing his final fastball 95.3 mph, but it was an awfully discouraging performance. It’s good to know he doesn’t think he’s hurt, though.       Lugo did not factor into the decision in Tuesday's 2-1 loss to Miami, allowing two hits and two walks over six scoreless innings. He struck out eight.

      Advice: The 34-year-old right-hander was in line for his 11th win when departing this outing, only to be let down by his bullpen. With this scoreless performance, Lugo collected his third straight quality start and lowered his June ERA to 3.69 over 31.2 innings with a 29:8 K:BB. Overall, he sports a 2.29 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 95:26 K:BB across 110 innings this season. Lugo is currently slated to make one more start this month against Cleveland at home this weekend.     • Lugo pitches six scoreless frames vs. Marlins
      Seth Lugo pitched six scoreless innings while striking out eight in Tuesday’s loss to the Marlins.

      Advice: Lugo allowed just two hits and four total baserunners on the night, doing his part to stifle a Marlins lineup that hasn’t struck fear in too many pitchers this season. Unfortunately for Lugo, the slim 1-0 lead he exited with was last in the seventh inning when reliever Carlos Hernández allowed an RBI single to Nick Gordon to tie the game. Regardless of the outcome, it was a solid night for Lugo, who lowered his ERA to 2.29 on the season.     • Cole allows four home runs in loss
      Gerrit Cole allowed six runs on seven hits in four innings in a loss to the Mets on Tuesday.

      Advice: There’s a fair amount to be concerned about here. The Yankees ace walked four and struck out nobody on the day. His fastball sat 95.4 mph on the day which was down 1.3 mph from his first start. He hit 98 mph in the first inning but by the third inning, he threw only four fastballs and just one was over 94 mph. Home runs hit by Mark Vientos and Harrison Bader were on fastballs that were 91.5 and 93.2 mph. Given that Cole’s elbow injury to start the year involved some nerve issues, there’s a concern that there remains a lingering impact on Cole’s health or performance. It could also just be one bad start, but this is the second outing of his career that he did not strike out any batters and the other was on May 20, 2016, so it’s certainly a performance we want to take note of.     • Brayan Bello shellacked in loss to Blue Jays
      Brayan Bello allowed seven runs on five hits in 2 1/3 innings in a loss to the Blue Jays on Tuesday.

      Advice: Bello held the Blue Jays scoreless for the first two innings, but the wheels fell off in a big way in the third inning. The first six batters of the inning reached before Bello could get a groundout, but then a home run to George Springer chased him from the game. The right-hander did get six whiffs on 20 swings in his limited time but he threw on 42 percent of his pitches in the strike zone and had no feel for anything on the night. After a strong start to the season, Bello has struggled over his final seven starts, and the loss of feel for his changeup, which has been his primary pitch in his young career, is concerning.
