    • Homers and steals bag in win
Ohtani went 1-for-2 with a two-run homer, two walks, a steal and three runs scored in Tuesday's 15-2 win over the Rangers. He also reached via a hit by pitch.

Advice: Ohtani kickstarted a four-homer sixth inning by the Dodgers with a two-run blast off Grant Anderson. He also tallied his 15th steal of the year, becoming the first player in baseball this season to tally 15 home runs and 15 steals. Ohtani continues to be one of the most dangerous hitters in baseball and is now slashing .312/.384/.581 with 16 homers, 43 RBI, 50 runs and a 30:62 BB:K in 294 plate appearances. • Blanks Cardinals
Skenes didn't factor into the decision Tuesday against St. Louis, allowing five hits and no walks across 6.1 scoreless innings. He struck out eight.

Advice: Skenes was locked into a pitchers' duel with Miles Mikolas, as the first run of the game didn't come across until the ninth inning, leaving both starters with no-decisions. Individually, Skenes was excellent once again, punching out seven or more batters for the fifth time in six starts while issuing no walks for the first time all year. Through 33.1 innings, Skenes has struck out 46 batters and owns a 2.43 ERA and a 0.96 WHIP. He'll make his first trip to Coors Field on Sunday to face off against the Rockies. • Shohei Ohtani collects 16th homer, 15th steal
Shohei Ohtani hit a two-run homer, walked twice, stole a base and scored three times Tuesday in the rout of the Rangers.

Advice: Ohtani is the first player to reach 15 homers (actually 16) and 15 steals this year. In fact, no one else has at least 12 of each. Only Elly De La Cruz, with 11 homers and 34 steals, tops Ohtani in the two categories combined. Rotoworld Tuesday, 11:23 pm

    • Paul Skenes strikes out eight, Pirates down Cards
Paul Skenes recorded eight strikeouts over 6 1/3 scoreless innings in a win over the Cardinals.

Advice: Skenes left the game with the ballgame knotted in a scoreless stalemate after scattering five hits over six-plus frames. The rookie phenom did everything he could to position himself for a win, allowing just one extra-base hit while not surrendering a walk. He ran into a slight bit of trouble in the fifth inning, giving up back-to-back singles to kick off the frame. However, with Nolan Arenado on third and no outs, Skenes would strike out the next two batters he faced before getting Michael Siani to ground out to end the inning. Skenes lowered his ERA to 2.43 on the season and will have a chance to earn his next win on Sunday against the Rockies. Rotoworld Tuesday, 7:21 pm

    • Christopher Morel has two hits, HR in loss
Christopher Morel went 2-for-4 with a solo home runs and two runs scored in a loss to the Rays on Tuesday.

Advice: Morel crushed a 409-foot home run off of Zach Eflin for his 13th home run on the season. Both of his hits were at least 102.7 mph, but he also struck out once in the game, so he showed his full profile. The 24-year-old is hitting just .208 on the year, so even though the power is undeniable, he’ll need to keep producing like this if he wants to remain a fixture in the lineup as the Cubs make a playoff push over the summer. • Pops 13th home run
Morel went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Rays.

Advice: Morel connected for this third home run of the month and 13th of the season in the fourth inning. The 24-year-old is now halfway to his long ball total from last year through 66 games. Morel only needed 107 contests to record those 26 homers in 2023, but he seems primed to play more games this season if he stays healthy, and that could result in a new career best in the power department. • Juan Soto back in right field Tuesday vs. Royals
Juan Soto is back in right field for Tuesday’s game against the Royals.

Advice: Soto is back patrolling right field for the first time since leaving last Thursday’s game against the Twins with left forearm discomfort. Clearly, the Yankees aren’t too concerned about the issue moving forward if he’s already back out there in the outfield after missing just a handful of contests to undergo further testing. • Getting Tuesday off
LeMahieu isn't in the Yankees' lineup for Tuesday's game against the Royals, Erik Boland of Newsday reports.

Advice: LeMahieu has gone 4-for-9 with an RBI across his last three games, and he'll get a breather Tuesday while Oswaldo Cabrera starts at third base, batting ninth. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 2:17 pm

    • Set to be activated Thursday
Mets manager Carlos Mendoz said Tuesday that Diaz (shoulder) will be activated from the 15-day injured list Thursday, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Diaz is done with his rehab assignment after making two scoreless appearances with High-A Brooklyn. However, the Mets will wait a couple more days before returning the reliever to the active roster. Mendoza didn't divulge plans for Diaz's immediate role, but he should serve as the club's closer sooner rather than later. Diaz has been out since late May with a right shoulder impingement.
