    • Could return as second baseman
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts stated over the weekend that he may consider having Betts (wrist) play primarily at second base upon his return, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Advice: The consideration to shift Betts back to second base from shortstop is primarily due to the impressive performance of Miguel Rojas, who has played excellent defense, as usual, while adding a surprisingly potent bat (he's slashing .291/.337/.437 over 164 plate appearances). The versatile Betts is no stranger to second base; he played a career-high 70 games at the position last year after beginning the campaign in the outfield. Betts was then asked to move to shortstop ahead of 2024 despite never having logged time there in the majors prior to 2023, and he's performed adequately defensively despite a few hiccups. It remains to be seen if the Dodgers will ultimately pursue having Betts and Rojas form their middle infield for most games, and Roberts has time to think through that scenario since Betts remains several weeks away from returning. He threw and ran Tuesday, per the Associated Press, but hasn't yet swung a bat. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:18 pm

    • Not in starting nine
Arcia (tooth) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Giants.

Advice: Arcia is dealing with an abscessed tooth and will be held out of the starting lineup for a second straight game. Though it's unclear exactly when he'll be available to start, Arcia had the issue addressed Tuesday, so it's likely he'll be cleared in the coming days. Zack Short will bat ninth and play shortstop. • On bench again
Hamilton is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Marlins.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Hamilton is absent from the starting nine for the third time in the last four games, with Wednesday's contest being the first against a left-handed pitcher. Romy Gonzalez will play second base and Ceddanne Rafaela will play shortstop. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:10 pm
    • Receiving breather
DeJong is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Guardians.

Advice: The 30-year-old will get the night off Wednesday after making 11 consecutive starts at shortstop. Nicky Lopez will fill in for DeJong at short while Danny Mendick plays second base. DeJong owns a .731 OPS with 15 home runs across 290 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:05 pm
    • Out of lineup Wednesday
Lopez (undisclosed) is out of the starting nine for Wednesday's game against Boston.

Advice: Lopez was scratched from Tuesday's contest for unspecified reasons and will remain on the bench for Wednesday's contest. Instead, Vidal Brujan will bat seventh and fill the keystone. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:47 am

    • On verge of rehab assignment
Bogaerts (shoulder) could begin a rehab assignment within the next day or two, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union Tribune reports.

Advice: Bogaerts had a CT scan of his left shoulder Monday, the results of which indicated that he is ready to resume playing. Acee indicates that the infielder will likely head out on a rehab assignment with Triple-A El Paso in the coming days, and team officials have previously suggested that a rehab stint would last 7 to 10 days. Though manager Mike Shildt recently said that there is no timeline for Bogaerts' activation from the injured list, if all goes well moving forward, he could rejoin the Padres for their home series against Atlanta that begins July 12. • Belts homer No. 10
Correa went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 5-3 win over the Tigers.

Advice: His eighth-inning blast deep to left-center field off Beau Brieske capped the scoring on the night. Correa has hit safely in five straight games, and since June 6 the veteran shortstop has a blistering .418/.476/.659 slash line over 103 plate appearances with six of his 10 homers on the year and 19 of his 41 RBI. • Rockies activate and option prospect Adael Amador
Rockies activated 2B Adael Amador from the 10-day injured list; optioned him to Double-A Hartford.

Advice: Amador got into 10 contests for the Rockies last month before hitting the injured list with a right oblique strain. The 21-year-old second baseman is one of the top prospects in the fantasy landscape, but he’s yet to play above Double-A in the minors. His time is coming in Colorado, but it’s probably not going to be until next year. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:46 am

    • Homers in loss
Witt went 1-for-4 with a solo homer during Tuesday's loss to the Rays.

Advice: Witt's home run in the sixth inning cut Tampa Bay's lead to 2-1, but it would also end up being the only way the Royals got on the board in a 5-1 defeat. The 24-year-old shortstop remains one of the most reliable bats in baseball, recording a hit in seven of his last eight games while posting a 1.015 OPS in that span. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:39 am
