  • Manny Machado doubles twice to lead Padres
    Manny Machado doubled twice and drove in two runs as the Padres edged the Braves 6-5 in the first game of Monday’s doubleheader

    Advice: The two-run hit came in a four-run eighth inning rally that proved decisive. The previous double was Machado’s first extra-base hit since May 4. He also had his first multi-RBI game since that date. We were hoping his numbers would get better as his shoulder got further removed from surgery, but his current .639 OPS is 100 points lower than his mark from a month ago.     Bohm went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run and two additional RBI during Sunday's 11-5 win over the Nationals.

  • Alec Bohm knocks in five to take over MLB lead
    Alec Bohm had a three-run homer and two sac flies to lead the Phillies to an 11-5 win over the Nationals on Sunday.

    Advice: Bohm has had four six-RBI games in his career, including one last month, but this is the first time he’s finished with exactly five. He’s now the major league leader with 42 RBI, giving him one more than Marcell Ozuna and José Ramírez. With a .330/.389/.528 line in 47 games, he’s on track to make his All-Star debut this summer.   • Alec Bohm drives in run as Phillies beat Nationals
    Alec Bohm clubbed an RBI double on Friday as the Phillies defeated the Nationals in Philadelphia.

    Advice: Bohm opened the scoring in the home half of the first inning, plating J.T. Realmuto with his run-scoring double off of Nationals’ right-hander Jake irvin. That would be his only hit in four at-bats on the night. For the season, the 27-year-old slugger is now hitting a robust .331/.397/.521 with four long balls, 37 RBI and a pair of stolen bases.     Machado will start at third base and bat fifth in Friday's game in Atlanta.

    Advice: It's only the second time over the past nine seasons that Machado has batted lower than cleanup. The 31-year-old is in the middle of a 2-for-30 stretch at the plate to drop his season slash line to .222/.276/.346. Rotowire.com Friday, 1:10 pm

    Alec Bohm went 2-for-5 with two doubles and an RBI against the Mets on Thursday.



    Advice: Bohm continues to bash the ball this season as his average is .331. Bohm has a 15 percent strikeout percentage since the beginning of last season. He’s someone you can count on for a solid batting average and entrenched in the middle of the Phillies batting order. Bohm is also benefiting greatly from a .381 BABIP, which is 55 points higher than his career .326 BABIP. He probably has to cool off at some point, but his profile doesn’t scream sell high.
