• Woods Richardson picks up second win vs. Royals
Simeon Woods Richardson allowed two earned runs over five innings, picking up the win on Tuesday against the Royals.

Advice: Woods Richardson allowed two runs in the fifth when Garrett Hampson and Kyle Isbel drove in runs in back-to-back plate appearances. He was far from dominant, but Woods Richardson allowed just five total base runners on the night and had the Twins in position to win he made his exit. Tuesday’s win marks his first since April 13th, as Woods Richardson will now look to pick up his third win on Sunday against the Astros. Rotoworld 5 minutes ago
  • Cole Ragans allows three earned runs in loss
Cole Ragans allowed nine hits and three earned runs over five innings in Tuesday’s loss to the Twins.

Advice: Ragans ran into trouble in the first inning when he allowed back-to-back hits to his first two batters faced, only to see both players score on a Jose Miranda single a few batters later. Ragans would allow another run in the fourth on a Manuel Margot double, as the left was hit around for much of the evening. His nine hits allowed tied for the second-most he’s allowed on the season, as Ragans has struggled at times to limit base runners despite a solid 3.49 ERA. He walked 30 batters while walking eight this month and is scheduled to make his next start on Sunday against the Padres. Rotoworld 7 minutes ago

  • Kirby Yates earns eighth save vs. D-Backs
Kirby Yates earned his eighth save of the season in Tuesday’s win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Yates had to tightrope out of danger to earn the save in this one. The righty allowed a two-out walk to Eugenio Suárez only to see a single by Gabriel Moreno move Suárez into scoring position. Fortunately for Yates, a strikeout of Kevin Newman would end the game and secure the win for the Rangers, who have now won back-to-back games after dropping their previous six. • Exits with injury
Megill was removed from Tuesday's game against the Cubs after getting hit in the right arm by a line drive, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Advice: Megill entered Tuesday's game in the 10th inning and threw three pitches to Mike Tauchman before getting taking a 99-mph line drive off his right (throwing) arm. Megill immediately came out of the game and will presumably head into the clubhouse for imaging. The Brewers should have more information on his status following Tuesday's contest. • Trevor Megill exits after being hit by line drive
Trevor Megill left Tuesday’s relief appearance against the Cubs with an apparent injury.

Advice: Ouch. Megill was struck on the right elbow by a 99-mph line-drive off Mike Tauchman’s bat in the 10th inning of Tuesday’s showdown against the Cubs and immediately left the contest. The 30-year-old righty will likely head for X-rays to determine the extent of the damage. There should be an update on his status shortly. Rotoworld 14 minutes ago

  • Eovaldi goes three innings in return from IL
Nathan Eovaldi allowed two earned runs over three innings in Tuesday’s win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: After pitching a perfect first inning, Eovaldi ran into trouble in the second, allowing the first three batters he faced to reach base, with Pavin Smith doubling home Christian Walker to give the Diamondbacks their first run of the night. He would give up another run in the inning on a Eugenio Suárez sacrifice fly. He would only pitch one more inning before being pulled after 37 pitches, functioning somewhat as an opener for the Rangers after the team opted to scratch Dane Dunning from his scheduled start. It was Eovaldi’s first outing since May 2nd after he was placed on the 15-day IL with a groin strain. If he’s back on the five-game rotation, his next start would be scheduled for Monday against the Tigers. Rotoworld 15 minutes ago

  • Pfaadt allows four earned runs in loss to Rangers
Brandon Pfaadt allowed six hits and four earned runs over seven innings in the Diamondbacks’ loss to the Rangers.

Advice: Pfaadt got some early run support in the second inning but the Diamondbacks were unable to keep pace with the Rangers, who hung three runs on Pfaadt in the fifth inning via a Corey Seager three-run homer. Pfaadt allowed three or more earned runs in three of his five starts in May, and picked up just one win on the month. Pfaadt will carry a 4.16 ERA and 1.07 WHIP into his next start, which is scheduled for Sunday against the Mets. Rotoworld 20 minutes ago
  • Jordan Wicks strikes out five in rehab outing
Jordan Wicks (forearm) allowed one run over 3 1/3 innings on Tuesday in a minor league rehab start for Triple-A Iowa.

Advice: Wicks struck out five and only issued one walk, throwing 52 pitches (31 strikes) in his latest rehab outing. The 24-year-old lefty figures to be ready to return to Chicago’s starting rotation at some point in early June. Rotoworld 22 minutes ago
  • Alex Vesia notches six-out save against Mets
Alex Vesia recorded a six-out save on Tuesday against the Mets.

Advice: Vesia got the call to protect a three-run lead during the second half of Tuesday’s doubleheader at Citi Field and needed just 30 pitches (16 strikes) to record the final six outs. It was his second save of the season. There won’t be a ton of save chances for the 28-year-old lefty moving forward with closer Evan Phillips likely to return later this week from the injured list.
