• Luis Rengifo scratched on Monday
Luis Rengifo was scratched from the Angels lineup on Monday.

Advice: Rengifo was originally penciled in at second base and hitting sixth in the order. However, he has been replaced by Brandon Drury. According to Jeff Fletcher of the SoCal News Group, Rengifo is no longer sick, so we’ll have to wait and hear the reason for him being replaced. Rotoworld Today, 12:14 pm

  • Matt Vierling hitting third for Tigers on Monday
Matt Vierling is starting at 3B and hitting third for the Tigers on Monday against the Guardians.

Advice: Vierling has bounced around the lineup over the last week but never hitting below fifth in the order. With Wenceel Perez still out with an illness, Vierling will get a chance to hit third against right-hander Triston McKenzie. Vierling is off to a strong start this year, slashing .287/.313/.457 with three home runs, 14 runs, and 11 RBI in 99 plate appearances. He’s chasing less out of the strike zone but being more aggressive in the strike zone which has led to increased contact rates. He’s also pulling and lifting the ball more, which has helped him register an 8.2 percent barrel rate. We might not be seeing a full-on breakout, but his success has not been flukey. • Returns to lineup
Rengifo (illness) will start at second base and bat sixth in Monday's contest in Pittsburgh, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.

Advice: Rengifo missed a couple games while battling an illness but feels well enough to give it a go Monday against right-hander Mitch Keller and the Pirates. He's sporting a robust .413/.481/.609 batting line with two home runs and four stolen bases over his last 14 games. Rotowire.com Today, 11:52 am

  • Optioned to minors
The Rays optioned Mead to Triple-A Durham on Monday, Ryan Bass of Bally Sports Sun reports.

Advice: Mead has been given plenty of chances by the Rays this season, but his bat never got going, as he slashed just .218/.269/.276 with one home run and a 23:4 K:BB over 94 plate appearances. The 23-year-old will look to get on track at Durham with the hopes of earning another opportunity later this season. Rotowire.com Today, 11:17 am

  • Rays option Curtis Mead to Triple-A
Rays optioned INF Curtis Mead to Triple-A Durham.

Advice: He’ll head down to the minors with Josh Lowe ready to return from the injured list. Mead has batted .218/.269/.276 with one homer and a 23/4 K/BB ratio over 94 plate appearances with the Rays this season. He should get another chance down the line. Rotoworld Today, 11:13 am

  • Another productive day Sunday
Urias went 1-for-3 with two RBI from a bases-loaded walk and a run-scoring single in a win over the Astros on Sunday.

Advice: Both of Urias' RBI were particularly noteworthy, as he displayed some timely plate discipline with the bases jammed in the second inning and then drove in the game-tying run with an eighth-inning single that plated Dylan Moore. Urias' .738 OPS belies some of his struggles at the plate, as he's still carrying a .167 average and .286 on-base percentage; however, he's also contributed 10 RBI in 20 games, the byproduct of a .444 average in 14 plate appearances with men in scoring position. • Heading to bench Monday
Sosa is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Giants, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Sosa started at shortstop in the Phillies' first two games after Trea Turner (hamstring) landed on the 10-day injured list, going 2-for-8 with a two RBI, one run and one stolen base. Though he could still end up serving as the primary option at shortstop during Turner's absence, Sosa will give way to Bryson Stott on Monday while Whit Merrifield fills in at Stott's usual spot at second base. • Three straight multi-hit games
Diaz went 2-for-4 with a double, a walk and two RBI on Sunday against the Mets.

Advice: Diaz is hitting just .235 across his 150 plate appearances of the season, though his results have begun to turn around of late. Sunday marked his third straight start with two hits, and he also has a double, four RBI and a run scored in that span. Diaz has only two barrels in 114 batted ball events to begin the season, though he should continue to see hits fall in at an increased clip as he's maintained a 15.3 percent strikeout rate -- in line with his career norm. • Expected to return Monday
Burger (oblique) joined the Marlins in Los Angeles and is expected to be activated from the 10-day injured list ahead of Monday's series opener versus the Dodgers, Kevin Barral of FishonFirst.com reports.

Advice: On the shelf since April 15 with a left intercostal strain, Burger looks to have checked out fine after completing the final phase of his recovery process this past week, when he joined Triple-A Jacksonville for a rehab assignment. He played in three games for Jacksonville, going 3-for-11 with two runs, two walks and one RBI in addition to playing nine innings at first base and 18 innings at third base. Once activated, Burger should immediately settle back in as the Marlins' everyday option at the hot corner, resulting in Vidal Brujan and Emmanuel Rivera losing out on playing time.
