• Homer, three walks in win
Moreno went 1-for-2 with a solo home run, three walks and two total runs scored in Monday's 6-5 win over the Reds.

Advice: The homer was Moreno's first of the year, and this was the second game of the season in which he had multiple walks. He's gotten off to a slow start with the bat, hitting .248 through 33 contests, but he's made up for it with a 12.8 percent walk rate, easily the best of his career. Moreno has added 16 RBI, 12 runs scored, six doubles and a triple through 117 plate appearances while serving as Arizona's primary catcher. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:26 pm
  • Will Smith delivers in 10th as Dodgers down Giants
Will Smith delivered a two-run double in the top of the 10th to propel the Dodgers past the Giants 6-4 on Monday.

Advice: It was his second hit of the game. Smith hit .258., 260 and .261 the last three years, but he’s at .309 right now, and he has the exit velocity numbers to somewhat back it up. He’ll probably fade as the foul tips and other catching maladies pile up, but he’s been one of the NL’s best players to date. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:42 pm
  • Gabriel Moreno homers, walks three times in win
Gabriel Moreno hit a solo homer and drew three walks in a victory over the Reds on Monday.

Advice: Moreno took Graham Ashcraft deep for his first homer of the 2024 campaign. The four-reach game helps improve his slash to .248/.350/.356. The on-base percentage is nice. Everything else leaves a lot to be desired — even as a catcher. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:04 pm
  • Contreras records three hits Monday
William Contreras went 3-for-5 with a run scored in the Brewers’ loss to the Pirates on Monday.

Advice: All three of Contreras’ hits were singles. He continues to hit as his average is up to .354 on the season. Contreras’ .426 BABIP this season is high even for him, a career .348 BABIP hitter. He’s a hitting machine right now, but this level of batting average shouldn’t be expected to continue for the rest of the season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:11 pm
  • Adley Rutschman crushes two homers in O’s loss
Adley Rutschman clobbered a pair of solo homers on Monday in the Orioles’ loss to the Blue Jays.

Advice: Rutschman took Blue Jays starter José Berríos deep in the fourth and sixth innings to record the first multi-homer performance of his young career. The 26-year-old franchise cornerstone, who has gone deep in back-to-back contests, is batting .309/.343/.491 with 23 runs scored, eight homers, 25 RBI and one steal through 175 plate appearances this season. • Two-homer day
Rutschman went 2-for-4 with two solo home runs Monday against the Blue Jays.

Advice: Rutschman hit both blasts off Blue Jays starter Jose Berrios, giving him eight on the season and three over the last two games. The third-year star is now slashing .309/.343/.491 with 25 RBI and 23 runs to go along with the eight home runs. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:53 pm
  • Visiting with team doctor
Bailey is being evaluated by the team doctor Monday to determine if his cold is related to a concussion he suffered earlier in the season, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Advice: The Giants are operating with caution to ensure Bailey doesn't require an extended absence. He'll be considered day-to-day until the club has more information. Blake Sabol and Jakson Reetz will see time behind the dish until Bailey is cleared for game action. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:18 pm

  • Patrick Bailey (illness) to be examined
Patrick Bailey will see a team doctor to check out whether his apparent illness could be related to the concussion he suffered earlier this month.

Advice: Bailey was thought to have a virus, but the Giants want to make sure his symptoms aren’t post-concussion issues. Blake Sabol is starting behind the plate tonight, and Jakson Reetz was called up in case the Giants need an extra catcher. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:12 pm

  • Up with big club
Reetz was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento ahead of Monday's game against the Dodgers, Amy Gutierrez of the Giants' official site reports.

Advice: Reetz was called up to take the spot of Jung Hoo Lee, who was placed on the 10-day injured list earlier in the day due to a left shoulder dislocation. Reetz isn't listed in the team's starting lineup for Monday's series opener, but he could see time behind the dish if Patrick Bailey (illness) struggles to return to health.
