• Hoping to swing bat Wednesday
Herrera (back) will play catch Tuesday and is hoping to hit off a tee and take flips Wednesday, John Denton of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Herrera is eligible for activation Saturday but could need a rehab assignment before returning. He could make it back by early July if all goes well. It wouldn't seem to be a given that Herrera rejoins the big-league roster at that point, however, since Willson Contreras is back from the injured list and Pedro Pages had been playing over Herrera prior to the latter's injury. • Taking seat Tuesday
Murphy is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Cardinals.

Advice: After catching back-to-back games, Murphy will yield to Travis d'Arnaud behind the plate Tuesday. Murphy owns a .618 OPS with a 27.4 percent strikeout rate across 73 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 1:37 pm

  • Ben Rice sitting Tuesday against southpaw
Ben Rice is not in the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Mets.

Advice: Rice takes a seat on New York’s bench with Mets southpaw David Peterson toeing the rubber. It’ll be newly-acquired veteran J.D. Davis drawing his first start at the cold corner on Tuesday night in his place. The 25-year-old prospect is batting .294 (5-for-17) with one RBI in 21 plate appearances over six games since getting the call to the majors last week. Rotoworld Today, 1:32 pm

  • David Fry in Tuesday’s lineup at DH vs. Orioles
David Fry (elbow) is in the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Orioles.

Advice: Fry is back in Cleveland’s lineup for the second straight contest after making an early exit from Sunday’s game agains the Blue Jays due to right elbow inflammation. It obviously doesn’t seem like a massive concern going forward. Rotoworld Today, 1:11 pm

  • Idle against lefty
Rice is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Mets.

Advice: With J.D. Davis joining the Yankees roster, Rice is expected to enter the strong side of a platoon with Davis at first base. Rice will take a seat Tuesday for the first time since being called up June 18 as the Mets trot out southpaw David Peterson. Rotowire.com Today, 1:11 pm

  • Out of lineup Tuesday
Kelly isn't part of the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the Phillies.

  • Remains in organization
Wynns cleared waivers and accepted his outright assignment to Triple-A Louisville on Tuesday, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirerreports.

Advice: Wynns was designated for assignment by the Reds over the weekend but will stick in the organization after passing through waivers unclaimed. The 33-year-old spent just two days on the big-league roster and didn't see game action. He has a .253/.312/.414 slash line with four homers in 29 contests for Louisville this year. • Ends slump Monday
Perez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's 4-1 win over the Marlins.

Advice: Perez had gone 0-for-14 over his previous four games, and he'd gone seven contests without an extra-base hit. Both droughts ended when the catcher went back-to-back with Vinnie Pasquantino in the fourth inning, with Perez's homer serving as the decisive run. A poor June -- 11-for-57 (.157) over 20 games -- has taken some of the shine off of what was a strong start to the year for Perez. He's now slashing .280/.352/.462 with 12 homers, 46 RBI, 29 runs scored and 15 doubles through 77 contests. Rotowire.com Today, 9:55 am
