• Gets break Friday
Isbel is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Rays.

Advice: With southpaw Tyler Alexander coming in as the primary pitcher for Tampa Bay, left-hitting Isbel will not start and pass center field duties to Garrett Hampson. Isbel will get a break as the Royals come off a series sweep against Detroit, where he went 2-for-11 with two runs. Rotowire.com 5 minutes ago

  • Still on bench
Fraley (hand) is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Dodgers.

Advice: Fraley hasn't started a game since getting hit by a pitch in the hand Tuesday against San Diego. However, he's been utilized as a pinch runner since sustaining the injury and it's unclear if he's capable of hitting at this point. Jacob Hurtubise will start in right and bat ninth Friday. • Not starting again
Melendez is not in the lineup for Friday's game against Tampa Bay.

Advice: The 25-year-old outfielder will start from the dugout for the second straight matchup as southpaw Tyler Alexander takes the mound as the primary for the Rays. Melendez has struggled to get his bat going this year, slugging .179/.232/.345 with 12 RBI, and going 3-for-19 in his last five games played. Nelson Velazquez will move to left field in place of Melendez and bat seventh. Rotowire.com 12 minutes ago

  • Renfroe returns to lineup Friday
Hunter Renfroe is back in the Royals lineup for Friday’s game against the Rays.

Advice: Renfroe had the day off when the Royals last played on Wednesday, but he’s back in the lineup and batting eighth on Friday. He’s struggled this season with a .160 average and four home runs in 131 at-bats. Rotoworld 14 minutes ago

  • Goes yard in win
Santander went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Thursday's 8-6 win over the White Sox.

Advice: Santander's homer was his eighth of the season and first since May 11. He's been battling a bruised knee over the last week, which could explain his 2-for-20 run at the plate over his last five games. The outfielder is slashing .206/.280/.424 with 27 RBI, 23 runs scored, 11 doubles, one triple and no stolen bases over 189 plate appearances. Aside from the knee issue and the occasional rest day, he's been a regular in the Orioles' lineup as the team's starter in right field. Rotowire.com Today, 9:39 am
  • On cusp of rehab assignment
Langford (hamstring) is expected to begin a minor-league rehab assignment as soon as Friday, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Advice: The 22-year-old has been sidelined nearly three weeks by a strained hamstring but is in the latter stages of his rehab program. Assuming Langford is able to get in a couple games this weekend, he could rejoin the Rangers for the upcoming two-game series versus the Diamondbacks, which begins Tuesday. • Game-tying homer Thursday
Bleday went 1-for-6 with a game-tying two-run home run in an extra-innings win over the Rockies on Thursday.

Advice: Bleday stepped to the plate in the 11th with the Athletics already having cut a four-point inning-opening deficit in half, and he delivered with a 409-foot shot to center with Abraham Toro aboard to knot the score at 9-9. It was the second consecutive game in which Bleday left the yard, and the clutch homer also extended the outfielder's hitting streak to six games. Bleday has impressively laced 23 of his 44 hits for extra bases this season, and all three components of his .243/.315/.459 slash line are easily career bests. Rotowire.com Today, 9:29 am

  • Roster spot in jeopardy
Robles could be placed on waivers when Lane Thomas (knee) is deemed ready to come off the injured list, Mark Zuckerman of MASN Sports reports.

Advice: Jacob Young has become the everyday center fielder, and while Eddie Rosario and Jesse Winker have been erratic at the plate, they could have trade value later in the season if they heat up at the right time. That leaves Robles, who doesn't have any minor-league options remaining, as the odd man out in the Nationals' outfield. The 27-year-old has done little to justify keeping him on the 40-man roster though, batting .087 (2-for-23) when he's been healthy in 2024. If the front office decides his defensive value as a fifth outfielder is worth keeping around though, Joey Meneses could be optioned instead. Rotowire.com Today, 8:00 am
  • Plays nine innings Thursday
Thomas (knee) went 1-for-4 with two strikeouts for Double-A Harrisburg on Thursday while playing all nine innings in right field.

Advice: It's the first time in three rehab games that Thomas has played a full nine innings. The 28-year-old is 2-for-9 at the plate in those three contests with a double and a stolen base, and per Mark Zuckerman of MASN Sports, the Nationals are considering whether to activate him Friday or leave him on his rehab assignment for another couple days to get his timing back at the plate. When Thomas does come off the IL, however, he should immediately slot back into the starting lineup in right field for Washington. Rotowire.com Today, 7:54 am
