• Clears waivers
Ramirez cleared outright waivers and accepted his assignment to Triple-A Durham on Friday.

Advice: Ramirez was designated for assignment Wednesday by the Rays, but he'll stay in the organization with their affiliate in Durham after passing through the waiver process. The right-hander delivered a 4.50 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 9:6 K:BB across 16 innings with Tampa Bay this season. Rotowire.com 15 minutes ago
  • DFA'd by Kansas City
The Royals designated Duffey for assignment on Friday.

Advice: The right-hander was added to the Royals' roster in late April and posted a 5.00 ERA, 1.67 WHIP and 10:8 K:BB over nine innings during his month in the majors. Duffey was removed from the 26-man and 40-man rosters as Carlos Hernandez (shoulder) returns from the injured list. Rotowire.com 57 minutes ago
  • Back from injured list
The Royals reinstated Hernandez (shoulder) from the 15-day injured list Friday.

Advice: Hernandez was shut down at the start of spring training due to a pinched nerve in his right shoulder, but he's ready to join the Royals after an eight-game rehab assignment with Triple-A Omaha. The right-hander recorded four saves and 17 holds last season but had a 5.27 ERA and 1.33 WHIP across 70 innings. Rotowire.com Today, 10:22 am
  • Picks up first win Thursday
Bielak (1-0) picked up the win in an extra-innings victory over the Rockies on Thursday, allowing a hit and a walk over one-third of an inning. He struck out one.

Advice: Bielak came into the game with runners at the corners and two outs in the top of the 11th, and after allowing a bases-clearing Brendan Rodgers double and issuing a walk to Kris Bryant, he was able to strike out Jordan Beck to end the inning. That set the stage for the unlikeliest of victories, as the Athletics mounted a five-run rally in the home half of the frame to walk it off. Bielak, who was just acquired via trade from the Astros on May 16, has allowed two earned runs on eight hits and a walk over 5.2 innings across three appearances since his arrival, and despite Thursday's brief outing, he's likeliest to log multi-inning assignments out of the bullpen. • Braves option Williams to Triple-A
Braves optioned INF Luke Williams to Triple-A Gwinnett.

Advice: Williams was optioned to make room for the newly signed Joey Wendle. Serving as infield depth with Atlanta, he appeared in just seven games this season. Now he’ll serve as organizational depth in the minors. Rotoworld Today, 9:50 am

  • Braves sign Joey Wendle to one-year contract
Braves signed INF Joey Wendle to a one-year contract.

Advice: Wendle was released by the Mets earlier this week after hitting .222 with zero home runs in 36 at-bats. The 34-year-old wasn’t any better for the Marlins last year when he hit .212 with two home runs in 297 at-bats. He’ll serve as a backup infielder with Atlanta. Rotoworld Today, 9:45 am

  • Disastrous first rehab start
Boyle (back) started Triple-A Las Vegas' loss to Tacoma on Thursday and allowed four earned runs on three hits and two walks without recording an out.

Advice: Boyle's final line encapsulates how forgettable his 26-pitch outing went, with the right-hander locating only half of those offerings for strikes before getting the hook. The one silver lining appears to be that Boyle didn't have any residual physical issues, but given the on-field results, he'll almost certainly draw another start for the Aviators before activation is considered. • Goes yard in win
Santander went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Thursday's 8-6 win over the White Sox.

Advice: Santander's homer was his eighth of the season and first since May 11. He's been battling a bruised knee over the last week, which could explain his 2-for-20 run at the plate over his last five games. The outfielder is slashing .206/.280/.424 with 27 RBI, 23 runs scored, 11 doubles, one triple and no stolen bases over 189 plate appearances. Aside from the knee issue and the occasional rest day, he's been a regular in the Orioles' lineup as the team's starter in right field. Rotowire.com Today, 9:39 am
  • Braves recall Ray Kerr for start Friday
Braves recalled LHP Ray Kerr from Triple-A Gwinnett.

Advice: Kerr will start Friday night’s game against the Pirates. The 29-year-old left-hander has a 2.89 ERA and 0.96 WHIP in four appearances out of the bullpen with Atlanta this season. The Braves need a fresh arm and while Kerr was optioned on Monday, he didn’t appear in any games for Gwinnett. Rotoworld Today, 9:37 am
