• Fans seven in win
Morton (3-0) yielded a run on three hits and a walk over seven frames Friday, striking out seven and earning a win over the Mets.

Advice: Morton rolled through six easy innings before Francisco Lindor broke up with the shutout with a solo shot in the seventh. Since allowing 10 total runs in two starts April 8 and 14, Morton has turned in four straight quality starts. During that stretch, his season ERA has dropped from 5.29 to 3.14 through 43 innings. Morton is currently in line for a home matchup against the Cubs next week. Rotowire.com 13 minutes ago

  • Exits with trainer
Woo was removed from his start Friday against Oakland due to an apparent injury, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

Advice: Woo appeared to be reluctant to come out of the game, but the Mariners' training staff saw something they didn't like and decided to pull the right-hander. In his first start of the season after working his way back from elbow inflammation, Woo pitched 4.1 scoreless innings and struck out three batters while walking one. It remains unknown if his latest injury is related to his elbow, but clarification should come relatively soon. Rotowire.com 15 minutes ago

  • Charlie Blackmon drives in go-ahead runs vs. TEX
Charlie Blackmon drove in two runs to help the Rockies to a 4-2 win over the Rangers on Friday.

Advice: With the score tied at 2-2, Blackmon doubled home Brenton Doyle and Jake Cave to give the Rockies a 4-2 cushion and ultimately the victory. The outfielder also drew a walk to improve an ever-so-mediocre slash to .241/.303/.375 over the first six weeks. Rotoworld 17 minutes ago

  • Corey Seager homers, drives in two vs. Rockies
Corey Seager homered and drove in two runs in a loss to the Rockies on Friday.

Advice: Seager got the Rangers on the board with a homer, and he drove in another run with a bases-loaded walk that tied the game at 2-2. Things are starting to pick up for the 30-year-old star, but his .239/.314/.345 slash is obviously one of the more disappointing developments of the (early) 2024 campaign. • Jalen Beeks picks up second save of season
Jalen Beeks hurled a scoreless ninth to procure a save Friday against the Rangers.

Advice: It’s the second save of the season for Beeks, and the seventh of his MLB career. The scoreless inning also lowered his ERA to 2.45, and with Justin Lawrence struggling — Lawrence came in to pitch the seventh and walked in the tying run — he could see more chances over the summer months. This would be a very risky/desperate pickup for those who are in dire need of save chances. Rotoworld 17 minutes ago

  • Jon Gray whiffs seven, allows one run vs. Rockies
Jon Gray struck out seven while allowing just a run over six innings Friday in a no-decision versus the Rockies.

Advice: Gray, 32, did allow eight hits, but he issued just one walk and was able to make enough big pitchers to hold the Colorado lineup to just that run in Coors Field. The right-hander has been excellent as of late, and he’s now allowed no more than one run in all but two starts in 2024. He’ll take a 2.36 ERA into his next scheduled start against Cleveland on Wednesday. Rotoworld 17 minutes ago

  • Austin Gomber holds Rangers to one run over 6 2/3
Austin Gomber allowed just one earned run over 6 2/3 innings against the Rangers on Friday, but didn’t factor into the decision.

Advice: Gomber scattered five hits while issuing two walks, and the southpaw was able to strike out five. The only run allowed while he was in the game was a Corey Seager homer in the sixth inning, and the other came on a bases-loaded walk to Seager after Gomber had left the game. That makes back-to-back outings where Gomber has been able to go six innings, and he’s allowed just those two runs while lowering his ERA to 3.43. He’ll be back at it Wednesday against the Padres. • Bryan Woo exits with injury in return from IL
Bryan Woo left Friday’s game in the fifth inning with an apparent injury.

Advice: Such a bummer. Woo was making his season debut after battling elbow inflammation, and he had allowed just one hit in 4 1/3 scoreless innings before departing. It wasn’t obvious what the problem was, but it most likely was the arm acting up. Although it seemed like he wanted to keep going, the Mariners wouldn’t let him throw warmups to make his case. • Exits with apparent injury
Slater was removed from Friday's game against the Reds with an apparent arm injury, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Advice: Slater crashed hard into the outfield wall during the first inning and was later pinch hit for by Michael Conforto. The Giants' training staff will take a closer look at Slater in the clubhouse and should offer an update on his status in the near future. Rotowire.com 25 minutes ago
