    • Slow recovery progress
Muncy (oblique) said Tuesday on Foul Territory that he's "not progressing as fast" as he would like from his strained right oblique.

Advice: Muncy's comments mesh with what manager Dave Roberts said over the weekend, which was that the third baseman is working on a "slow program." The 33-year-old recently progressed to taking dry swings and doing plyo-ball workouts, and he doesn't appear to be close to rejoining the Dodgers. Enrique Hernandez has been operating as Los Angeles' primary third baseman in the meantime and will likely continue to fill that role. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 11:48 am

    • Connects for ninth home run
Candelario went 1-for-4 with a home run in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Cubs.

Advice: Candelario delivered early in this one with a solo home run off Ben Brown in the first inning. The Reds' third baseman has responded nicely since being moved to the three hole in the lineup with six home runs and nine RBI in his 16 games since the move. The 30-year-old extended his hitting streak to a season-best eight games, and he'll take a .238/.305/.449 line into Sunday's game. Rotowire.com Saturday, 6:44 pm
    • Diaz has two-hit game Saturday
Yandy Diaz went 2-for-4 against the Orioles on Saturday.

Advice: It was a quiet afternoon for the Rays as they were shutout. Diaz had the only two hits for Tampa Bay. After winning the batting title in the American League last year, he’s hitting just .245 so far this season. Diaz’ .273 BABIP this year is well below his .320 career BABIP. That doesn’t explain his lack of power this year as his .105 ISO is way down from his .192 ISO last season. Rotoworld Saturday, 4:25 pm

    • Candelario blasts ninth home run in win Saturday
Jeimer Candelario went 1-for-4 with a solo home run against the Cubs on Saturday.

Advice: The home run was Candelario’s ninth of the season. He tied the game with a solo shot in the first inning against Cubs starter Ben Brown. Candelario’s now hit three home runs in his last six games. Rotoworld Saturday, 3:57 pm
    • Taking dry swings
Muncy (oblique) has begun taking dry swings and doing plyo-ball workouts, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

Advice: This is a step forward for Muncy, as he had previously been unable to swing a bat at all after continuing to experience soreness in his oblique. However, manager Dave Roberts said last week that the third baseman is on a "slow program," so Muncy doesn't appear to be particularly close to a return. He hasn't played in a game since May 15 and will likely need to go on a rehab assignment before rejoining the big-league club. Rotowire.com Saturday, 11:58 am

    • Homer, two steals in win
Candelario went 2-for-5 with a two-run homer and two stolen bases in a 12-7 win over Colorado on Wednesday.

Advice: Candelario got the Reds on the board in the third inning with a two-run blast off Dakota Hudson, his eighth homer of the year and second in three days, before picking up his first two stolen bases of the season later in the contest. It was an impressive road trip for the 30-year-old Candelario, who's now gone 9-for-24 (.375) with three extra-base hits in his last five games. Overall, he's slashing .236/.304/.443 with 25 RBI and 22 runs scored through 224 plate appearances this season. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 8:44 pm
    • Jeimer Candelario homers, steals two bases in win
Jeimer Candelario blasted a two-run homer and also stole a pair of bases on Wednesday in the Reds’ comeback victory over the Rockies.

Advice: Candelario clobbered a two-run homer off Rockies starter Dakota Hudson in the third inning before recording his 700th career hit in the fifth inning of this one as he put together one of his strongest performances of the year on Wednesday afternoon at Coors Field. His multi-steal performance was the first of his career and he had just 15 career stolen bases across 799 contests in the majors since 2016. Rotoworld Wednesday, 4:28 pm
