    • Michael Busch goes 0-for-4 in loss to Braves
Michael Busch went 0-for-4 with a pair of strikeouts on Thursday in the Cubs’ shutout loss at the hands of the Braves.

Advice: Busch is really struggling at the moment, batting .183 (17-for-93) with just one home run over his last 30 games. He’s gone especially frigid at the dish, hitting just .071 (1-for-14) over his past seven contests. The league seems to have made its adjustment to the 26-year-old top prospect and now it’s time for him to strike back. It wouldn’t be shocking to see him get a break in the coming days as a bit of a mental reset. Rotoworld 32 minutes ago

    • Stuck with first loss
Garrett (5-1) took the loss Wednesday against Cleveland, allowing a run on two hits and a walk in one inning. He struck out two.

Advice: After entering with the game tied 3-3 in the seventh inning, Garrett allowed a leadoff single to David Fry, who advanced to second on a wild pitch before eventually scoring on a Johnathan Rodriguez base hit. It's the first loss of the year for the 31-year-old Garrett -- he's allowed just two earned runs in his last 13.1 innings. Despite Wednesday's setback, Garrett's emerged as a top option in the Mets' bullpen and could see the occasional save chance with Edwin Diaz temporarily shifting to a lower-leverage role. Overall, Garrett sports a 1.04 ERA with a 1.19 WHIP while posting a stellar 14.9 K/9 across 26 innings. Rotowire.com Today, 7:35 am

    • Taking seat Thursday
Heim is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Phillies.

Advice: The Rangers are wrapping up their series in Philadelphia with a day game after a night game, so Heim will be given a day of rest. Andrew Knizner will pick up the start at catcher. Rotowire.com Today, 7:34 am

    • Another two-homer game
Soto went 2-for-4 with two home runs and three RBI in Wednesday's 7-3 win over the Mariners.

Advice: This was Soto's second multi-homer game in the last five contests. He's gone 8-for-19 (.421) with six RBI and seven runs scored over that span. The star outfielder continues to fit right in with the Yankees, slashing .313/.409/.569 with 13 homers, 40 RBI, 37 runs scored, four stolen bases, nine doubles and a triple over his first 51 games with the team. • Merrill Kelly heading for follow-up MRI exam
Merrill Kelly is scheduled to undergo a follow-up MRI exam on his injured shoulder this week to see how he is progressing.

Advice: Kelly has been shelved since mid-April due to a right shoulder strain. Hopefully after this week’s exam, we’ll at least get some sort of timeline on how long it’ll be before we see him on a big league mound again. The 35-year-old hurler had registered a 2.19 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and a 21/6 K/BB ratio over 24 2/3 innings through his first four starts. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:41 pm

    • Swats late homer
Diaz went 1-for-5 with a solo home run and an additional RBI in Wednesday's 8-5 loss to the Red Sox.

Advice: Diaz knocked in a run with a groundout in the second inning and added a solo shot in the ninth. He's up to four homers this season, three of which have come in his last 12 games, a span in which he's hitting .313 (15-for-48). The infielder is slashing .255/.321/.360 with 25 RBI, 22 runs scored, no stolen bases and nine doubles over 50 contests this season. Diaz had a career-high 22 homers in 2023, but that was an anomaly for him from a power standpoint -- he's much more of a contact-first hitter. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:34 pm

    • Juan Soto homers twice in win
Juan Soto went 2-for-4 with two home runs and three RBI as the Yankees defeated the Mariners 7-3 on Wednesday.

Advice: It has been a magical first season in the Bronx for Soto who heard “MVP” chants after his second big fly. He’s been every bit as advertised for the Yankees and fantasy managers alike with a .313/.409/.978 slash line and 13 homers so far this season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:13 pm
    • Scheduled for MRI
Manager Torey Lovullo said Wednesday that Kelly will undergo an MRI later this week to see how his strained right shoulder is progressing, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.

Advice: Kelly's shoulder has kept him out of action since April 23, though he may be able to begin a throwing program in the near future if his MRI results come back clean. If the 35-year-old righty is cleared to begin throwing, a more defined return timeline may emerge, although he isn't eligible to return to Arizona's rotation until June 22. • Fans career-high 12 in win
Ragans (4-3) picked up the win in Wednesday's 8-3 victory over the Tigers, allowing one hit and three walks over six scoreless innings. He struck out 12.

Advice: A clash with fellow star southpaw Tarik Skubal brought out the best in Ragans, who fanned a career-high 12 batters and generated a whopping 35 called or swinging strikes among his 100 pitches. The 26-year-old has reeled off 13 straight shutout innings over his last two starts, and he'll take a 3.34 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 76:21 K:BB through 62 innings into his next outing, which is scheduled to come on the road early next week in Minnesota.
