    • Knocks in three runs Monday
Soto went 3-for-5 with two doubles, two runs and three RBI in Monday's 14-4 thrashing of Philadelphia.

Advice: Though Soto didn't get in on the six homers New York racked up in the victory, he collected the team's only two doubles and was one of three Yankees with three RBI. The slugger has at least three hits on 11 occasions this season and has knocked in at least three runs 12 times. Soto has tallied 10 multi-hit performances over his past 15 games and is slashing .406/.479/.859 with six home runs, 14 RBI, 16 runs and a stolen base over that span. Rotowire.com Today, 12:11 am

    • Chad Green gets hold against Orioles
Chad Green wound up with a hold in the second game of Monday’s doubleheader after retiring all four Orioles he faced in the seventh and eighth innings.

Advice: Green looks like the clear favorite for saves in the Toronto pen at this point, but the Jays declined to hold him back for the ninth tonight. It turned out to be the right decision, as the Jays added to their lead, and Genesis Cabrera was able to protect a four-run lead in the ninth. There’s the chance Green will be traded Tuesday, but since Toronto has him under contract for next year and hopes to return to contention then, it’s quite possible he’ll stay put. If Green does go, Erik Swanson has his velocity back and could take over in the ninth. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:01 pm

    • Report: Pirates, Yankees, Astros chasing Díaz
The Pirates, Yankees and Astros are the primary teams showing interest in Yandy Díaz, according to Francys Romero.

Advice: Díaz is signed through 2025 with a club option for 2026, so the Rays are going to require a big return in order to move him. The Astros definitely figure to have a harder time meeting their needs after giving up so much for Yusei Kikuchi. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:53 pm

    • Brewers lose Trevor Megill to lower back strain
Brewers placed RHP Trevor Megill on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to July 26, with a lower back strain.

Advice: Megill hadn’t pitched since Tuesday, though the Brewers didn’t let it be known that his back was a problem. This could mean Joel Payamps will get save chances when Devin Williams is unavailable. Williams, who just came off the IL on Sunday, isn’t expected to pitch on back-to-back days for a little while. • Slated for simulated game
Kelly (shoulder) will throw a three-inning simulated game Wednesday, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.

Advice: Eduardo Rodriguez (shoulder) will throw a four-inning simulated game the same day and could join the Diamondbacks' rotation next week. Kelly is behind him, but it doesn't appear by much. A return for the right-hander by mid-August looks doable if all goes well. He's been out since late April with a right shoulder strain. • Heads to IL with back injury
The Brewers placed Megill on the 15-day injured list with a lower-back injury, Sophia Minnaert of Bally Sports Wisconsin reports.

Advice: Megill will undergo an MRI to determine the extent of the damage, but the team has already deemed it bad enough to require a stint on the IL. Between this injury and Devin Williams' return to the closer role, fantasy managers can no longer rely on Megill as a source of saves. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:39 pm

    • Records first post-Estevez save
Garcia earned a save against Oakland on Sunday, retiring all three batters he faced in the ninth inning.

Advice: Angels manager Ron Washington said before the game Sunday that Garcia would step into the closer role after Carlos Estevez was traded to Philadelphia on Saturday, and the skipper held true to this word when he brought Garcia into the contest with Los Angeles up by two runs in the top of the ninth inning. The veteran reliever did his part to reward his manager's confidence, needing just nine pitches to set the side down in order. The save was Garcia's career-high fourth of the campaign, and he's added 12 holds along with a 3.71 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 40:14 K:BB over 43.2 frames overall. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:15 am
    • Keeps swinging hot bat
Bogaerts went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run Sunday in a loss to Baltimore.

Advice: Bogaerts temporarily brought San Diego to within a run with his two-run blast to left field in the sixth inning. The long ball extended the infielder's hitting streak to eight games, during which he's slashing a scorching .545/.571/.788 with four RBI, seven runs and a stolen base. Bogaerts is batting .489 over 45 at-bats since returning July 12 from a lengthy stay on the injured list. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:02 am

    • Homers again Sunday
Cruz went 1-for-3 with a solo homer, two walks and two runs scored in Sunday's win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Cruz finally got the Pirates on the board with a solo blast to right off Joe Mantiply in the sixth for his second homer in as many games. Sunday was also just the third time this season he's drawn multiple walks in one game. Since coming back from the All-Star break, the 25-year-old is hitting .314/.385/.743 with three homers, nine RBI, eight runs and a 4:10 BB:K in 39 plate appearance over nine games.
