    • Aaron Civale allows one run in no-decision
Aaron Civale pitched 5 1/3 innings on Friday against the Orioles and allowed one earned run. He struck out three and walked one.

Advice: Civale has simplified his approach of late. This was his seventh consecutive start throwing his cutter at least 30% of the time and the third time in four starts where he’s thrown it 40% of the time. The final results were solid here against one of the best offenses in baseball, but Civale induced just six swings and misses while the Orioles hit 10 balls hard. He remains a risky streamer until he can figure out his secondary pitches. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:25 pm
    • Spencer Torkelson not in Tigers lineup on Friday
Spencer Torkelson is not in the Tigers’ starting lineup for Friday night’s tilt against the Red Sox in Boston.

Advice: It looks to be a routine night off for the 24-year-old first baseman. While his bat has perked up in recent weeks, he’s still hitting just .205/.271/.337 with four homers and 18 RBI on the season. Gio Urshela will draw a start at first base in his absence and will bat seventh against Tanner Houck on Friday evening. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:07 pm
    • Randy Arozarena absent from Rays lineup on Friday
Randy Arozarena is absent from the Rays’ starting lineup for Friday night’s battle against the Orioles.

Advice: The 29-year-old outfielder’s struggles have been well documented this season, as he’s hitting a mere .159/.258/.313 with eight homers, 19 RBI and a 66/25 K/BB ratio over 229 plate appearances. Jonny DeLuca will start in his place in left field and will bat fifth for the Rays against Albert Suarez and the Orioles on Friday evening in Baltimore. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:54 pm
    • Getting break Friday
Arozarena is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Orioles, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Advice: Arozarena will get a break after starting the last four games for Tampa Bay, going 2-for-12 with one RBI in that stretch. The 29-year-old outfielder will cede left field duties to Jonny DeLuca, who will bat fifth while Jose Siri and Richie Palacios round out Tampa Bay's outfield. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:13 pm
    • Resting Friday
Torkelson is out of the lineup for Friday's game against Boston.

Advice: Torkelson will take a day to clear his head after getting three hits in his last 20 at-bats. The 24-year-old first baseman will cede duties to Gio Urshela, who will bat seventh and get his inaugural start at first base this year. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:00 pm
    • Crushes 18th homer
Judge went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Thursday's win over the Angels.

Advice: Judge didn't have a great day at the plate overall, striking out four times for the second time this season. However, he was able to give the Yankees an early 2-1 lead with a two-run shot off Patrick Sandoval in the fourth, marking his 12th long ball this month. Five of those homers have come over Judge's last eight games and he's now batting .355 in May with 23 RBI and 26 runs scored. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:34 am
    • Aaron Judge hits 275th career homer in victory
Aaron Judge hit a two-run homer to help the Yankees to an 8-3 win over the Angels on Thursday.

Advice: Judge’s two-run homer gave New York a 2-1 lead. The roundtripper was the 275th of his career, and it tied Jorge Posada for eighth all-time on the Yankees’ list. Judge has been spectacular in the month of May — and most of his career — and is up to 18 homers and 41 RBI. Rotoworld Thursday, 9:25 pm
    • Logan O’Hoppe hits solo homer in loss to Yankees
Logan O’Hoppe hit a solo homer in a loss to the Yankees on Thursday.

Advice: O’Hoppe gave the Angels a 1-0 lead with a solo blast off Carlos Rodón in the fourth. The second-year backstop has gone deep seven times with a decent — if a bit boring — .259/.311/.429 slash in 2024. Rotoworld Thursday, 9:24 pm
    • Tagged with first blown save
Miller was charged with a blown save in Thursday's 6-5 loss to Tampa Bay in 12 innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on one hit and three walks over two innings. He struck out four.

Advice: Jose Siri's game-tying homer in the bottom of the ninth was the first given up by Miller this year while also resulting in his first blown save in 12 chances. Despite Thursday's hiccup, it's been an excellent start to the season for the 26-year-old Miller -- his ERA now sits at 2.08 with a 0.88 WHIP and 51 strikeouts, the most among qualified relief pitchers, through 26 innings.
