    • Battling stiff back
Luzardo pitched through a stiff back Sunday, Bally Sports Florida reports.

Advice: The southpaw got the hook after gutting out five innings and 77 pitches, but Luzardo clearly didn't have his best stuff and his velocity was down about two miles per hour. There's been no indication yet from the Marlins that he will miss his next turn in the rotation, which lines up to come Saturday against the Mariners, but that determination may not be made until later in the week. • Hitting streak ends
Tovar went 0-for-4 Sunday against the Pirates.

Advice: Tovar went hitless for the first time in his last eight starts, and in that span, he hit .393 with three home runs, 10 RBI and six runs scored. That stretch helped him continue to build on an impressive breakout season, as he's hitting .290 with a .809 OPS to go along with 11 homers and four stolen bases across 70 contests. • Begins rehab assignment
Jung (wrist) started at third base and went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored for Triple-A Round Rock on Sunday.

Advice: Jung kicked off a rehab assignment for the Express and played five innings in the field. Texas manager Bruce Bochy previously targeted Jung for 30 at-bats before returning to the major leagues, but the manager acknowledged Sunday to Kennedi Landry of MLB.com that it's a fluid situation. "We'll kind of monitor how things are going with him, the at-bats, how his body is bouncing back," Bochy said. "But we don't have a specific number." Jung fractured his wrist on April 1 and underwent surgery the following day leading to his stay on the 60-day injured list. Rotowire.com Today, 6:10 am

    • Homers in loss
Judge went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 9-3 loss to the Red Sox.

Advice: Judge had a bit of a quiet week, going a modest 6-for-25 (.240) with two homers and five RBI over six contests against the Royals and Red Sox. He also struck out nine times, including thrice in Sunday's game. It's likely just the natural ebb and flow of offense in a long season, as the outfielder is still leading the majors with 26 long balls while adding 64 RBI, 56 runs scored, five stolen bases and a .299/.425/.686 slash line over 73 contests. • Aaron Judge crushes homer as Yanks fall at Fenway
Aaron Judge clobbered his 26th home run of the season on Sunday night, but it wasn’t enough to power the Yankees to a victory over the Red Sox at Fenway Park.

Advice: Judge opened the scoring in the contest with a titanic 380-foot (114.2 mph EV) solo shot over the Green Monster off of Kutter Crawford in the top half of the first inning. That lead would be short-lived though, and Judge would go down on strikes in each of his remaining three at-bats in the contest. With his 1-for-4 effort the 32-year-old slugger is now slashing .299/.425/.686 with 26 homers and 64 RBI on the season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:19 pm
    • Fans two in defeat
Luzardo (3-6) took the loss Sunday against Washington, allowing two earned runs on five hits and three walks while striking out two in five innings pitched.

Advice: The two runs charged to Luzardo were both solo home runs -- a first-inning shot by Lane Thomas followed by a fifth-inning blast courtesy of Jacob Young. While he yielded only two earned runs, Luzardo allowed baserunners in all five innings and mustered just two strikeouts. The hard-throwing southpaw has seen a steep drop-off in his strikeout rate compared to last year, his numbers plummeting from 10.48 K/9 to 7.83 K/9 this season. Overall, Luzardo has compiled a disappointing 5.00 ERA, a 1.25 WHIP and a 58:22 K:BB across 66.2 innings. He will look to bounce back in his next start, currently scheduled for next weekend versus Seattle. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:48 pm

    • Luzardo allows two runs in loss Sunday
Jesus Luzardo allowed two runs in five innings and took the loss against the Nationals on Sunday

Advice: Luzardo gave up five hits, walked three and struck out two. He had allowed just two home runs in his previous seven starts combined, but two of the five hits he gave up on Sunday were home runs. Luzardo has now allowed nine home runs on the season (1.22 HR/9). He has a 5.00 ERA on the season, but his xFIP is significantly lower at 4.09. Luzardo’s been a little unlucky with a 66 percent left on base percentage, though his 21 percent strikeout percentage is down from 28 percent last year. The 26-year-old left-hander is set to face the Mariners at home next week.

    • Ready for rehab stint
Jung (wrist) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Round Rock on Sunday, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Advice: Jung, who suffered a fractured right wrist early in the season, resumed swinging the bat in late May and progressed to live batting practice earlier this week. He's now ready for game action, which puts a return to the Rangers before the end of the month very much on the table. Expect Jung to slot back in at third base immediately upon activation after his All-Star campaign in 2023. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:37 am

    • Jung (wrist) in lineup for Triple-A Round Rock
Josh Jung (wrist) is in the lineup for a rehab appearance for Triple-A Round Rock on Sunday.

Advice: Jung will be in the lineup for the first time for Round Rock as he works his way back from the fractured wrist that has sidelined him since early April. The infielder will likely need at least a few games in the PCL before he’s ready to return, but this is obviously most welcome news for both Texas and fantasy managers who have patiently waited for him to return.
