      Jung (wrist) said Wednesday that he expects to resume swinging a bat in a few days, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.

      Advice: Jung was examined Tuesday in Phoenix by the doctor that performed his right wrist surgery. While the third baseman has had his activation from the 60-day injured list pushed back a bit due to inflammation in the wrist, he's been told everything is sound structurally. Jung's return has effectively been ruled out through the weekend, but it's possible he's back shortly after that. More should be known regarding a potential timetable in the coming days.     • Spencer Torkelson homers twice in Triple-A game
      Spencer Torkelson went 3-for-4 with two homers and six RBI for Triple-A Toledo on Tuesday.

      Advice: Torkelson had some nice games immediately after being sent down by the Tigers, but he was in the midst of a two-week slump before breaking out of it last night. Overall, he’s at .274/.372/.452 with three homers in 18 games for Toledo. The Tigers might give him another opportunity soon, but there’s a good argument that Parker Meadows, who has hit .285/.378/.519 since his demotion, is more deserving at this point.       Greene (5-3) took the loss Tuesday, surrendering six runs on seven hits and two walks over four innings as the Reds fell 9-5 to the Pirates. He struck out five.

      Advice: Aggressive baserunning helped Pittsburgh score three times in the first inning before adding three more in the third, and Cincy was never able to climb out of the hole. The loss was Greene's first since April 22 -- over the 10 starts in between, he'd posted a sharp 2.80 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 62:26 K:BB through 61 innings.       Advice: Most of his damage came on a grand slam in the eighth inning off Reed Garrett as the Yankees tried to mount a comeback from a 9-1 deficit.       Ward went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a double and an additional run during Tuesday's 7-5 win over Oakland.

      Advice: Ward launched a homer for the second consecutive night, tagging Sean Newcomb for a solo shot in the seventh inning. He's riding a five-game hit streak, batting 7-for-15 (.467) with five extra-base hits, five runs scored and a stolen base during that stretch. Ward also ranks top-20 in the AL in home runs and RBI.       Advice: Pfaadt pitched into the seventh inning for the second start in a row, but it resulted in him giving up a three-run home run to Ryan Jeffers that tied the game at 4-4. Arizona got the lead back in its half of the frame, but Pfaadt was already out of the game, leaving the win to reliever Kevin Ginkel. Through five starts in June, Pfaadt has allowed 17 runs over 30 innings with a 23:12 K:BB. He's now at a 4.45 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 86:24 K:BB through 97 innings through 16 starts this season.       Brandon Pfaadt surrendered four runs in 6 1/3 innings Tuesday in a no-decision against the Twins.

      Advice: Byron Buxton homered off Pfaadt in the fifth, but that was the only run he allowed until the seventh, when he gave up a three-run shot to Ryan Jeffers. He was at just 80 pitches at the time, so fatigue probably wasn’t much of an issue. Still, it’s hard to go through a quality lineup three times. Pfaadt remained 3-6 with a 4.45 ERA.       Aaron Judge went 2-for-3 with a walk and five RBI in a loss to the Mets on Tuesday.

      Advice: Judge had an RBI double in the seventh inning with the Yankees down by seven but then crushed a 390-foot grand slam at 109.4 mph that brought the Yankees within two. While the bottom of the Yankees lineup may not be particularly deep, they still have Aaron Judge, which will always make them a threat. The big right fielder now has 29 home runs and 75 RBI already this season, which seems like video game numbers. You’re feeling great if you were able to take him with your first-round pick.     • Hunter Greene coughs up six runs to Pirates
      Hunter Greene allowed six runs on seven hits in four innings in a loss to the Pirates on Tuesday.

      Advice: The game started with Greene throwing up on the mound after delivering a first-inning fastball and it didn’t get much better from there. He struck out five and walked two and his velocity was fine on the day, but he clearly wasn’t feeling 100 percent. He posted a solid 27 percent whiff rate and 30 percent CSW, but the command wasn’t great and the Pirates were able to scratch out their runs on just one extra-base hit.
