      Advice: The homer was Fry's fourth in his last eight games. The 28-year-old has enjoyed a memorable May, going 23-for-60 (.383) with seven homers and 18 RBI over 21 contests for the month. He's slashing .352/.485/.629 with eight homers, 27 RBI, 27 runs scored and four stolen bases over 40 games this season. Fry offers a right-handed option at multiple positions, though he's unlikely to be needed in left field as much with Steven Kwan back from a hamstring injury.       Cease did not factor into the decision in Friday's 11-8 win over the Royals, allowing three runs on five hits and one walk over 5.1 innings. He struck out five.

      Advice: Despite generating 16 whiffs out of his 98 total pitches, Cease managed to strike out only five, tying a season low also reached May 20 against Atlanta and April 27 against Philadelphia. The Padres ace was cruising through five innings, allowing just two baserunners; however, he unraveled in a 25-pitch sixth inning, allowing four baserunners and departing with just one out.       Arenado went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 4-2 loss to the Phillies.

      Advice: Arenado has homered in each of his last two games. The third baseman's power numbers are still way down -- he's at five homers and a .379 slugging percentage through 53 contests -- but his recent stretch could be a sign of him heating up. On the year, he's batting .257 with 26 RBI, 22 runs scored, 10 doubles and no stolen bases over 226 plate appearances.       Advice: Cease was pretty great to begin the year, posting a 2.19 ERA in his first eight starts, but this makes four straight outings that have missed the quality-start threshold.       Advice: Lopez worked around some trouble throughout the contest and turned in one of his best starts of the year. He recorded a season-high eight strikeouts with 16 whiffs, including nine with his slider. It was the first time he recorded more than five punchouts in a start since April 30.       Reynaldo López limited the A’s to one run in six innings and struck out eight in Atlanta’s 4-2 victory Friday.

      Advice: Another quality start moves him to 3-2 with a 1.73 ERA. That López has had a very light schedule has played some role in his success to date. His 10 starts have seen him face none of the league’s top five offenses by OPS yet each of the bottom four (the Mariners, Pirates, Marlins and White Sox).       Advice: What else is there to say about Fry? This long ball was his third in six games and it’s getting more and more difficult to deny his blazing hot start.     • Swipes fourth bag
      Albies went 2-for-3 with a walk, a double and a stolen base in Thursday's loss to the Nationals.

      Advice: Atlanta's offense remains in a funk, managing only five hits and one run Thursday, but Albies has been one of the few consistent bright spots in the lineup of late. The second baseman's hit safely in six straight games, and since May 13 he's slashing .313/.375/.391. Albies still isn't providing much power -- he hasn't homered in 19 straight games and has only three long balls on the year -- but he has contributed four steals, 25 runs and 25 RBI through 46 contests.       Advice: Rodon ran through the Angels' lineup for most of the night, surrendering one run over the first six frames while producing five 1-2-3 innings. However, the veteran lefty would run into trouble in the seventh after allowing the first three batters to reach, paving the way for Ian Hamilton to take over in relief.
