• Absence continuing Friday
Westburg (hand) is out of the lineup for Friday's game against Rays, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Advice: The 24-year-old will miss a second straight game after being hit by a pitch on the right hand Tuesday against the Red Sox. Westburg had X-rays come back negative and should be considered day-to-day. Ramon Urias is starting at the hot corner Friday for Baltimore. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:52 pm

  • Westburg out of lineup for second straight game
Jordan Westburg (hand) is out of the Orioles’ lineup for Friday’s game against the Rays.

Advice: Westburg is out of the lineup for the second straight game. He was hit on the right hand by a pitch on Tuesday, missed Wednesday’s game and the Orioles were idle on Thursday. Westburg is yet to be placed on the injured list and X-Rays on his hand came back negative. His next chance to get in the starting lineup will come on Saturday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 12:47 pm

  • Sitting again
Davis is out of the lineup for Friday's game against Atlanta.

Advice: Davis will miss a third consecutive game Friday -- each of which has come against right-handed pitching. Considering the 31-year-old has been significantly better against southpaws, he could slip into the short side of a platoon. Tyler Soderstrom will fill in at the cold corner and bat eighth. • Looks like everyday third baseman
Vientos is expected to serve as the Mets' everyday third baseman after the club optioned Brett Baty to Triple-A Syracuse on Friday, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

Advice: Baty had started at third base in four of the Mets' previous five matchups versus right-handed pitchers, but the 24-year-old was unable to break out of his extended slump at the plate. He ends his time on the Mets' 26-man active roster having hit just .132 over his last 15 games, leaving Vientos as the big club's top option at the hot corner against both right- and left-handed pitching. Though he's an inferior defender compared to Baty, Vientos has been the far more effective hitter of the two at the big-league level this season, posting a .945 OPS over 48 plate appearances for the Mets. With Baty at least temporarily removed from the mix and a path to regular at-bats having been cleared up, Vientos makes for a worthy pickup for fantasy managers seeking an infusion of power. • Belts sixth homer
Bregman went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run, an additional run and a triple in Thursday's 4-0 win against Seattle.

Advice: Bregman broke a scoreless tie with his two-run blast in the fourth inning and came around to score Houston's final run following a triple in the sixth. It was the third multi-hit effort for the third baseman across his past five games, and he's batting .350 (7-for-20) with a pair of homers and four RBI over that stretch. Bregman could finally be getting his bat going following a rough start to the season that has his slash line still at a meager .218/.280/.360. Rotowire.com Thursday, 9:36 pm

  • Alex Bregman wallops two-run homer to defeat M’s
Alex Bregman went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer on Thursday, powering the Astros to a 4-0 victory over the Mariners.

Advice: Bregman broke up a scoreless stalemate with a fourth-inning shot -- his sixth round-tripper of the season -- to left field off Mariners ace Logan Gilbert. He also tripled and scored a run in the sixth inning to cap off a multi-hit performance. The 30-year-old impending free agent has gone deep twice in his last three games since being dropped to the fifth spot in Houston’s lineup. Rotoworld Thursday, 3:46 pm

  • Not in Thursday's lineup
Davis is absent from the lineup for Thursday's contest in Tampa Bay.

Advice: Davis is on the bench for a second straight day. The Rays are using a right-handed opener in Shawn Armstrong, so it's possible Davis enters mid-game if Tampa Bay eventually turns to a lefty. Davis has a .776 OPS against southpaws this season versus just a .581 OPS versus righties. Aledmys Diaz will start at first base Thursday. Rotowire.com Thursday, 7:18 am

  • Getting Wednesday off
Davis is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rays.

Advice: Davis will hit the bench after he went 1-for-6 at the dish while starting in both of the past two games. Tyler Soderstrom will step in for Davis at first base. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 1:21 pm

  • Jordan Westburg out Wednesday with bruised hand
Jordan Westburg is out of Wednesday’s lineup after getting hit on the right hand by a pitch Tuesday.

Advice: X-rays came back negative, and Westburg is day-to-day. The Orioles are using Ramón Urías at third base today. The 25-year-old was hit in the right hand by Red Sox start Brayan Bello in the sixth inning of Tuesday’s showdown, but managed to stay in the contest after a quick check from the Orioles’ training staff.
