• Gavin Sheets (heel) considered day-to-day
Gavin Sheets is considered day-to-day after X-rays on his injured heel came back negative on Friday.

Advice: Sheets was pulled from Wednesday night’s battle against the Dodgers after jamming his left heel while rounding second base after his double. It wouldn’t be surprising to see the White Sox give him a day off on Thursday, but don’t expect the 28-year-old slugger to require any sort of extended absence. Rotoworld Wednesday, 7:41 pm

Sheets was removed from Wednesday's game against the Dodgers due to a jammed left heel.

Advice: The severity of Sheets' injury remains unknown, but he is being further evaluated, and the White Sox should offer an update on his status in the near future. • Jake Bauers delivers grand slam in Brewers’ win
Jake Bauers hit a grand slam off Nathan Eovaldi as the Brewers edged the Rangers 6-5 in 10 innings Wednesday.

Advice: Midgame replacement Andruw Monasterio delivered the game-winning single in the bottom of the 10th. It was a little surprising to see Bauers start over Tyler Black today, but Pat Murphy seems to have made the right call. Bauers’ 444-foot slam was the first ever surrendered by Eovaldi. It was the second of his career, and his seventh homer in 192 plate appearances this season. Rotoworld Wednesday, 2:18 pm

  • Candelario dealing with hamstring tendinitis
Reds’ manager David Bell told reporters that Jeimer Candelario was held out of the team’s starting lineup on Wednesday due to hamstring tendinitis.

Advice: The injury isn’t believed to be serious, and sounds like something the 30-year-old slugger has been dealing with for a while. He’s considered day-to-day. On the season, Candelario is slashing a respectable .245/.298/.480 with 14 homers, 39 RBI and three stolen bases. Rotoworld Wednesday, 1:02 pm

  • Dealing with hamstring tendinitis
Reds manager David Bell clarified Wednesday that Candelario is dealing with hamstring tendinitis and is considered day-to-day, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Advice: Candelario has been nursing the issue for more than a week, with Bell saying before Wednesday's loss to the Pirates that the injury is "progressively not getting better." However, the team doesn't seem to have any plans at this time to put Candelario on the 10-day injured list. Even if Candelario avoids the IL, he could still be deployed at designated hitter for a few games to ease the stress on his legs. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 12:57 pm

  • Luke Raley scratched due to sore shoulder
Luke Raley didn’t play Wednesday due to a sore shoulder, the Mariners finally disclosed.

Advice: They could have said this when they scratched him before the game, but that’s no fun. Manager Scott Servais hopes to have Raley back Friday after the off day tomorrow. Rotoworld Wednesday, 12:38 pm

  • Misses game with sore shoulder
Mariners manager Scott Servais said Raley was scratched from the lineup ahead of Wednesday's 5-2 win over the Rays due to a sore shoulder, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

Advice: Raley had been slated to start in left field, but the Mariners dropped him from the lineup after his shoulder wouldn't fully loosen up on him in the batting cage prior to the game. The Mariners don't seem to be too concerned about the issue, as Servais said he's hopeful that Raley will be ready to go for this weekend's series versus Minnesota following Thursday's team off day, per Shannon Drayer of SeattleSports.com. • Grounds out in return to action
Sano went 0-for-1 against Oakland in a 7-5 victory Tuesday.

Advice: Sano was activated from the injured list Tuesday after missing 50 games with left knee inflammation. He entered as a pinch hitter in the seventh inning and grounded out to second base. Sano seems likely to return to the role he held prior to the injury, logging semi-regular at-bats while playing at first base and third base as well as getting starts as the Angels' designated hitter.
