• Rangers recall Yerry Rodriguez from Triple-A
Rangers recalled RHP Yerry Rodriguez from Triple-A Round Rock.

Advice: Rodriguez, 26, will provide a fresh arm in the Rangers’ bullpen for at least a couple of days while they figure out what to do with the rotation spot vacated by the injured Nathan Eovaldi (groin). He has compiled a 10.50 ERA, 2.50 WHIP and a 4/6 K/BB ratio over six innings in six appearances with the Rangers so far this season. Rotoworld Today, 2:44 pm
  • Guardians recall Peter Strzelecki from Triple-A
Guardians recalled RHP Peter Strzelecki from Triple-A Columbus.

Advice: The 29-year-old right-hander will replace Tyler Beede in the Guardians’ bullpen. Strzelecki has already made two appearances for the Guardians this season, firing two scoreless frames with a 0.50 WHIP and a 1/0 K/BB ratio. Expect him to be utilized in a middle relief role. • Guardians designate Tyler Beede for assignment
Guardians designated RHP Tyler Beede for assignment.

Advice: The 30-year-old right-hander seemingly pitched himself out of a job on Thursday night, giving up five runs on three hits and a pair of walks while recording only one out against the Astros. Overall, he posted an 8.36 ERA, 1.79 WHIP and an 18/9 K/BB ratio over 14 innings with the Guardians. There’s a chance that another club could take a shot at him on waivers. • Nails down second save
Megill earned the save Friday in a 3-1 win over the Cubs, striking out one in a perfect ninth inning.

Advice: Megill's appeared in the Brewers' last two save chances -- he set down the four, five and six batters in the Cubs' order Friday after Joel Payamps faced the top of the lineup in the eighth. Megill and Payamps both figure to see their share of ninth-inning work with Devin Williams (back) likely out until the All-Star break. The 30-year-old Megill lowered his ERA to 1.17 with a 0.91 WHIP and 7:3 K:BB through his first 7.2 innings this season. Rotowire.com Today, 2:36 pm
  • Set for bullpen session
Middleton (forearm) will throw a bullpen session Saturday, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Advice: Middleton has been on the 15-day IL since the start of the season after sustaining a right forearm strain in mid-March. He recently extended his throwing distance to 110 feet with no setback, and the right-hander has progressed enough to take the next step in his rehab program. Middleton will likely need multiple bullpen sessions without issue before beginning a rehab assignment. Rotowire.com Today, 2:34 pm

  • Pete Fairbanks ready to start rehab on Tuesday
Pete Fairbanks (nerve issue) will begin a minor league rehab assignment at Triple-A Durham on Tuesday.

Advice: The 30-year-old hurler has been out since April 22 due to a nerve-related condition that caused him difficulty in gripping the baseball. He should only need an outing or two there before he’s ready to rejoin the Rays’ bullpen. Rotoworld Today, 2:27 pm

  • Brought up by Rangers
Rodriguez was recalled from Triple-A Round Rock on Friday.

Advice: Rodriguez will fill the spot of Nathan Eovaldi (groin) who was placed on the 15-Day IL on Friday. In six appearances with the Rangers this season, Rodriguez garnered a 10.50 ERA and a 2.50 WHIP with three home runs allowed. Rotowire.com Today, 2:05 pm
  • Trevor Megill nails down save for Brewers
Trevor Megill worked a perfect ninth with a two-run lead for a save against the Cubs on Friday.

Advice: Megill got the ninth after Joel Payamps worked a scoreless eighth today. It looks like this might be the most frequent arrangement until the Brewers get Devin Williams back. Both Megill and Payamps are still probably worth using in 12-team leagues, but of the two, we’d take our chances with Megill. Rotoworld Today, 2:02 pm
  • Heyden Wesneski turns in 6 1/3 scoreless innings
Hayden Wesneski shut out the Brewers for 6 1/3 innings and struck out eight in a no-decision Friday.

Advice: He allowed three hits and walked two. Wesneski gave up five balls hit at least 100 mph today, yet they all turned into outs. He has a 0.54 ERA after two starts and two relief appearances, but with Justin Steele returning and Kyle Hendricks probably right behind him, it’s unclear if he’ll get another start.
