• Kevin Newman hits walk-off single against Reds
Kevin Newman went 4-for-5 with a walkoff two-run single in the ninth inning to give the Diamondbacks a 6-5 win Monday over the Reds.

Advice: Newman poked a single to right to score a pair of runners and turned a potential 5-4 loss into a 6-5 win. The 30-year-old former first-rounder has hit just .253 even with those four hits, and what was once an intriguing fantasy prospect is now someone who can be ignored on waivers. Monday was a good one, however. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:04 pm

  • Mike Ford somehow triples in loss to Diamondbacks
Mike Ford hit a triple and drove in two runs in a loss to the Diamondbacks on Monday.

Advice: To the surprise of absolutely no one who has seen Ford play, that’s the first triple of his MLB career. The 31-year-old drove in a run on the three-bagger and another with a single in the sixth. Ford is going to see time at first base with Christian Encarnacion-Strand, but he isn’t likely to do enough with that time to be worth a fantasy addition. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:04 pm
  • Ty France homers as Mariners outlast Royals
Ty France went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer in a victory over the Royals on Monday.

Advice: France turned a 4-2 cushion into a 6-2 lead with a two-run shot in the eighth inning. The infielder hasn’t hit for much power in 2024, but that does give him three homers and 13 RBI. France has been known to go on hot streaks, but fantasy managers just can’t bet on enough consistent production to add him to a lineup. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:17 pm

  • Luke Raley homers, plates three in win over Royals
Luke Raley homered, drove in three runs and stole a base Monday in a 6-2 win over the Royals.

Advice: Raley has been excellent in May, and this was easily his best game in a Mariner uniform. The outfielder scored a two-run homer off Brady Singer in the second inning, and he drove in another with an RBI single in the third. The outfielder also stole his second base of the season, and he’s athletic enough to project more if he can continue to get on base. At this point, it sure seems likely that Raley is going to see much more consistent playing time than he did to begin the year. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:17 pm

  • Expected back Tuesday
Schwarber (back) will be in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Mets, Corey Seidman of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.

Advice: Schwarber was absent from Monday's starting lineup due to back soreness, but he was called upon later in the game to pinch it, which resulted in a strikeout. After Monday's win, manager Rob Thomson noted that the slugger would be back in the starting nine for the second game of the series. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:03 pm
  • Remains out Monday
Schwarber (back) is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Mets, Corey Seidman of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.

Advice: Schwarber is on the bench for a third straight game due to lower-back soreness, but the 31-year-old is holding out hope for returning to the lineup for the Phillies' final game at Citi Field on Tuesday before the four-game series with the Mets shifts back to Philadelphia. With Schwarber out of the starting nine, Nick Castellanos will get a day out of the outfield and will serve as the Phillies' designated hitter. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:17 pm
  • Out Monday with knee injury
Realmuto (knee) is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Mets, Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Advice: Realmuto will be on the bench for a second straight game with what the Phillies are characterizing as right knee soreness. The veteran backstop said he first picked up the injury while legging out a triple in the Phillies' May 4 game against the Giants, and his knee hasn't improved in the week since. Neither Realmuto nor the Phillies are concerned yet about him requiring a stint on the injured list, though that could be a stronger possibility if he's not able to return to the lineup within the next couple of days. Garrett Stubbs will fill in for Realmuto behind the plate Monday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:14 pm

  • J.T. Realmuto feels no improvement in knee
J.T. Realmuto says his right knee hasn’t gotten better since he tweaked it on a triple against the Giants on May 4.

Advice: Realmuto hasn’t undergone any tests on the knee and still think it’s a day-to-day situation. He’s out of the Phillies’ lineup for a second straight game tonight, with Garrett Stubbs playing in his place. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:10 pm

  • Drives in three
Candelario went 1-for-5 with a double and three RBI in Sunday's 6-5 extra-inning loss to the Giants.

Advice: Candelario nearly missed a grand slam in the first inning and settled for a three-run double. This was just his second multi-RBI effort in 34 games this season. He's still battling a season-opening slump, but Candelario's bat has shown life of late. He's hit safely in four of the last five games, going 7-for-20 with a home run, two doubles and five RBI. Perhaps this recent five-game run will prompt a move up the batting order -- Candelario opened as the team's cleanup hitter but has since moved to the lower-third. The Reds are last in MLB with a .556 OPS out of the cleanup spot. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:59 am
