• Austin Riley wakes up with three hits, homer
Austin Riley went 3-for-4 with a home run, double, three RBI, and two runs scored against the Rays on Friday.

Advice: Finally, some signs of life from Riley. His home run was hammered 107.3 MPH and soared 422 feet. All three of his batted balls were hit at least 104 MPH and this feels like it could be the end of Riley’s prolonged cold start this season. Rotoworld Friday, 7:04 pm
  • Marcell Ozuna crushes 19th home run in win
Marcell Ozuna went 1-for-4 with a three-run homer, walk, and two runs scored against the Rays on Friday.

Advice: Ozuna got the Braves going early, taking Zack Littell deep to the opposite field in the first inning and Atlanta wouldn’t look back. Ozuna tied Kyle Tucker for third in the league with 19 home runs and has been one of the best offensive players in baseball so far this season. Rotoworld Friday, 7:03 pm
  • Giants activate SS Nick Ahmed from 10-day IL
Giants activated SS Nick Ahmed from the 10-day injured list.

Advice: Ahmed had been on the injured list with a wrist injury since May 10th. He’s hitting .236 with no home runs in 110 at-bats with the Giants this year. Ahmed will share playing time with Brett Wisely at shortstop going forward. Rotoworld Friday, 10:51 am

  • Returns from injured list
The Giants reinstated Ahmed (wrist) from the 10-day injured list Friday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Areareports.

Advice: Ahmed has been sidelined just over a month by a sprained left wrist but is ready to rejoin the Giants after three rehab appearances in the minors. He was operating as San Francisco's primary shortstop prior to the injury, largely due to his reliable glove, and he has a .236/.274/.291 slash line through 36 games this season. • Struggles continue Thursday
Riley went 0-for-5 with a strikeout in Thursday's win over the Orioles.

Advice: The third baseman's been dropped down to fifth in the order, even with lefty-hander Cole Irvin on the mound for Baltimore on Thursday, but it hasn't helped wake up Riley's bat. His last homer came May 3, and in 16 games since he returned from an intercostal strain he's slashing just .161/.212/.194 with two RBI and a 4:17 BB:K. Riley's track record says he will heat up at some point this summer, and his Statcast profile suggests there's a great deal of bad luck contributing to his numbers this season -- he's in the 91st percentile in max exit velocity, 90th percentile in bat speed and 82nd percentile in hard-hit rate. • Slugs eighth homer
Vaughn went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and an additional RBI in Thursday's 3-2 extra-inning win over the Mariners.

Advice: Vaughn opened the scoring in the contest with a solo homer to center field in the third inning and later produced the game-winning RBI with a run-scoring groundout in the 10th. The first baseman has been swinging a hot bat of late with six multi-hit efforts over his past 10 contests. Vaughn has reached safely via hit or walk in 14 consecutive games and is slashing .327/.373/.600 with four homers, seven RBI and 10 runs over that span. Rotowire.com Friday, 1:23 am
  • Belts first career walk-off homer
Martinez went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and a double Thursday in a 3-2 win against the Marlins.

Advice: Martinez accounted for both of New York's extra-base hits in the victory, with his first knock being a seventh-inning double that contributed to the team's first run. The veteran slugger's second hit was more dramatic -- he took Miami closer Tanner Scott deep for a two-run, walk-off homer in the bottom of the ninth inning. It was Martinez's 321st career long ball and the first walk-off home run of his 14-year career. He's gone deep six times through 168 plate appearances this season. Rotowire.com Friday, 12:32 am
  • Andrew Vaughn homers, plates game-winner in 10th
Andrew Vaughn homered and drove in the game-winning run Thursday against the Mariners.

Advice: Vaughn and Luis Robert Jr. went back-to-back in the third inning to give the White Sox a 2-0 lead. He also hit into a fielder’s choice in the 10th that score what ended up being the game-winning run. The first baseman has now homered eight times in 2024, and he’s started to swing the bat at a much better level in June with a slash of .361/.395/.667 over the month. Rotoworld Thursday, 9:23 pm
  • J.D. Martinez hits walk-off blast against Marlins
J.D. Martinez slugged a game-winning two-run homer on Thursday, lifting the Mets to a 3-2 walk-off victory over the Marlins.

Advice: Martinez’s walk-off shot came against Marlins stopper Tanner Scott in the bottom of the ninth inning and was his sixth round-tripper of the year. It was also somehow his first career walk-off homer in 14 seasons in the big leagues since 2011. He’s now hitting .271 with 21 RBI in 41 games for the Mets this year. Rotoworld Thursday, 7:05 pm
