• Struggles versus Miami
Wheeler pitched four innings, allowing six runs on six hits and three walks while striking out two batters in Sunday's 7-6 extra-inning loss to the Marlins. He did not factor into the decision.

Advice: Wheeler didn't have his best stuff Sunday, matching a season-high six hits given up while the two strikeouts were a season low. Most notably, the right-hander gave up a three-run homer to Josh Bell in the bottom of the third inning, which was only the fourth long ball surrendered by Wheeler in 2024. The 33-year-old still owns a rather impressive 2.53 ERA and 0.99 WHIP with 65 strikeouts over 53.1 innings in nine starts this season and his next projected outing is set to come Friday at home versus the Nationals. • Dealing with wrist injury
Kim was hit by a pitch on his left wrist in Sunday's 4-0 win over the Dodgers, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Kim took a 94 mph fastball from Walker Buehler off his left wrist in the bottom of the fourth inning, ultimately exiting the contest the following frame. The infielder underwent x-rays on his arm following the contest and they came back negative according to manager Mike Shildt, which bodes well for Kim moving forward. The 28-year-old can be considered day-to-day for the time being ahead of San Diego's three-game series with the Rockies at home beginning Monday. Rotowire.com 32 minutes ago

  • Ty Blach gets best of Rangers, earns first win
Ty Blach pitched five innings of one-run ball for the win as the Rockies topped the Rangers 3-1 at Coors Field on Sunday.

Advice: Blach was making his second start in five appearances since the Rockies called him up on Apr. 21. He’s sporting a 3.00 ERA in 18 innings, even though he’s struck out a total of five batters. He has a 5.32 ERA in 16 starts and 33 relief appearances since first joining the Rockies in 2022. • Jalen Beeks gets third save for Rockies
Jalen Beeks earned his second save in four days with a scoreless ninth against the Rangers on Sunday.

Advice: Beeks might be the Rockies’ closer now, though we’re not sure it matters much. He has a 2.33 ERA in 19 1/3 innings, but that comes with a modest 14/8 K/BB ratio. While Justin Lawrence still projects better than Beeks going forward, he doesn’t seem worth rostering at the moment. Those in dire need of saves could try Beeks, but that’s not us saying we recommend him. Rotoworld 43 minutes ago

  • José Ureña loses in return to Coors Field
José Ureña took a loss at Coors Field despite allowing just two runs over 6 2/3 innings Sunday against the Rockies.

Advice: Urena has benefitted from facing two of the game’s worst offenses in two starts since moving into the Texas rotation, but he’s done nice work, giving up a total of four runs in the two games. He has a 3.62 ERA in 32 1/3 innings overall. Rotoworld 43 minutes ago

  • Brendan Rodgers gets first career stolen base
Brendan Rodgers went 2-for-3 with a walk and his first career stolen base Sunday against the Rangers.

Advice: Rodgers actually went 12-for-15 stealing bases in Double-A in 2018. Since then, he’d gone 66 games in Triple-A and 352 in the majors without ever attempting even one. Rodgers must be feeling especially good, seeing that he’s batting .350 over his last 16 games. It’s just too bad he has the same number of homers as steals this year. Rotoworld 43 minutes ago

  • Hunter Goodman goes 0-for-3 against Rangers
Hunter Goodman went 0-for-3 before being lifted from Sunday’s game against the Rangers.

Advice: This makes back-to-back days that Goodman, who homered Saturday, has started over Elehuris Montero at first base. Prior to that, Goodman had started just once in seven games and twice in 11 games. That the Rockies are handling one of their better prospects like this is rather baffling, but Goodman isn’t inspiring much confidence with his 2-for-21 start, even if both of his hits have been homers. Barring a very good week, he’ll probably return to Triple-A once either Nolan Jones or Kris Bryant returns. Rotoworld 43 minutes ago

  • Three-run homer in win
Bell went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run, two walks and two runs scored in Sunday's 7-6 extra-win over the Phillies.

Advice: Bell was able to take Zack Wheeler deep for a three-run shot in the bottom of the third inning, giving the Marlins a 4-3 lead. The long ball was his fifth of the season and second of the month. The first baseman has produced a .270 average with two home runs, eight RBI and three runs scored over 37 at-bats in 11 games in May. Rotowire.com 48 minutes ago

  • Patrick Bailey scratched due to illness on Sunday
Patrick Bailey was scratched from the Giants’ starting lineup on Sunday due to a viral illness.

Advice: At least his absence wasn’t concussion-related, but we’ve seen these viral illnesses going around many MLB clubs and they’ve been forcing players to miss extended time. The good news is that he’s considered day-to-day and shouldn’t require a return trip to the injured list, but he may wind up needing a couple of days before he’s ready to return.
