    • Jazz Chisholm Jr. leaves game with tight biceps
Jazz Chisholm Jr. was removed from Saturday’s game against the Mariners due to tightness in his right biceps.

Advice: The 26-year-old outfielder had been 1-for-2 with a single and a strikeout when Vidal Brujan surprisingly hit for him in the sixth inning. The severity of the injury is not yet known, so be sure to check his status on Sunday. It may be wise for fantasy managers to have a contingency plan in place for next week in the event that Chisholm requires a trip to the injured list. Rotoworld Today, 5:12 pm

    • Christopher Morel wallops 446-foot homer in win
Christopher Morel went 2-for-4 with a solo homer and two RBI on Saturday, powering the Cubs to an 8-1 blowout victory over the Mets.

Advice: Morel contributed a run-scoring single as part of Chicago’s five-run opening frame against Mets starter Tylor Megill before clobbering a gargantuan 446-foot solo shot to left-center field -- his 14th round-tripper of the season -- a couple innings later. It was a much-needed tater for Morel, who hadn’t gone deep since June 11. Rotoworld Today, 2:19 pm

    • Alec Burleson homers, plates five in blowout win
Alec Burleson went 3-for-4 with two homers and five RBI on Saturday, leading the Cardinals to a 9-4 blowout victory over the Giants.

Advice: Burleson also stole a base in this one, just for good measure. It was arguably a career day for the 25-year-old corner outfielder as he notched his first multi-homer performance in the big leagues by taking former teammate Jordan Hicks deep for a three-run shot in the fourth inning before tacking on a two-run blast off reliever Sean Hjelle a couple frames later. He’ll continue to play regularly against right-handed pitching and is quietly emerging as a potential 25-plus homer threat, which is pretty remarkable considering he looked like nothing more than a bench player last year in his full-season debut. • Sitting Saturday
Gurriel (elbow) isn't in Arizona's lineup for Saturday's game against the Phillies.

Advice: Gurriel was removed from Friday's game due to a sore left elbow, and it is seemingly bothering him enough to keep him from playing Saturday, though the D-backs don't believe his injury to be anything too serious. Jake McCarthy will slide over to left field while Gurriel recovers, allowing Randal Grichuk to start in right field while batting sixth. Rotowire.com Today, 10:51 am
    • Jazz Chisholm Jr. in Saturday’s lineup vs. M’s
Jazz Chisholm Jr. (hamstring) is in the lineup for Saturday’s game against the Mariners.

Advice: Chisholm is back in center field for the second straight contest after being scratched earlier this week due to right hamstring tightness. It doesn’t look like it’s going to be an issue going forward, but fantasy managers should continue to keep a close eye on his status in the coming days. Rotoworld Today, 9:41 am

    • Lourdes Gurriel Jr. (elbow) not in Saturday’s lineup
Lourdes Gurriel Jr. (elbow) is absent from the lineup for Saturday’s showdown against the Phillies.

Advice: Gurriel hasn’t been placed on the injured list yet, so that’s at least an encouraging development after he was lifted from Friday’s contest against Philadelphia with left elbow soreness. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for the moment. Rotoworld Today, 9:18 am
    • Homers in return to lineup
Jones went 2-for-4 with a solo home run Friday against the Nationals.

Advice: Jones was out of the starting nine for two games with an illness, but he returned to the lineup and hit sixth Friday. He tallied his second home run of the season and has seven hits across 18 at-bats with only three strikeouts since being activated from the injured list June 14. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:48 pm

    • Avoids serious injury
Gurriel did not require an X-ray on his elbow following Friday's game against the Phillies, Jody Jackson of Bally Sports Arizona reports.

Advice: Gurriel exited the contest in the seventh inning with elbow soreness, though manager Torey Lovullo said after the game that he doesn't anticipate that Gurriel will require a stint on the injured list. The outfielder's status for Saturday remains in question, however. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:45 pm
    • Diamondbacks hopeful Gurriel (elbow) will avoid IL
Diamondbacks’ skipper Torey Lovullo said after Friday’s game that he’s hopeful Lourdes Gurriel Jr. (elbow) will be able to avoid the injured list.

Advice: Lovullo noted that the 30-year-old outfielder was sore after the game on Friday but that he did not require any imaging — at least at this time. He’ll be re-evaluated on Saturday, but it sounds like he was fortunate to have avoided any type of serious injury here. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:32 pm
