• Max Kepler goes deep in victory over Red Sox
Max Kepler went 2-for-4 and swatted a solo home run on Saturday, helping to lead the Twins to a 3-1 victory over the visiting Red Sox.

Advice: Kepler broke a 1-1 tie when he smashed a 405-foot (101.1 mph EV) solo shot off of Cam Booser in the fourth inning. He also singled in the sixth inning but wound up stranded on second base. All Kepler has done is hit since returning from the injured list, and with his two-hit attack on Saturday he’s now slashing .273/.339/.418 with a pair of long balls and 11 RBI in his first 16 games. He’s worth a look in any mixed leagues where he may still be available. Rotoworld 9 minutes ago

  • Wilyer Abreu plates lone run in loss to Twins
Wilyer Abreu went 2-for-4 and drove in the Red Sox’ lone run in Saturday afternoon’s loss to the Twins.

Advice: The Red Sox got something going early in this one, as Tyler O’Neill smacked a two-out double off of Pablo López in the opening inning. Abreu followed with a run-scoring single that gave his squad an early 1-0 advantage. That would be their only run in the ballgame. Abreu also singled in the game, collecting two of his team’s eight total hits. The 24-year-old outfielder has been terrific so far at the dish, slashing .307/.380/.489 with a pair of homers, 13 RBI and five stolen bases. Rotoworld 10 minutes ago

  • Gets breather against lefty
O'Hearn isn't in the Orioles' lineup Saturday against the Reds, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

  • Sitting against lefty
Cowser isn't in the Orioles' lineup for Saturday's game against the Reds, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Advice: With lefty Andrew Abbott set to take the mound for Cincinnati, the lefty-hitting Cowser will begin Saturday's contest on the bench. His absence will open a spot for Ryan McKenna to start in left field while batting ninth. Rotowire.com 14 minutes ago

  • Sits down against lefty
Florial isn't in the Guardians' lineup Saturday against the Angels.

Advice: The left-handed bat of Florial will step out of the lineup Saturday as southpaw Reid Detmers prepares to start for the Halos. His absence will move Bo Naylor into the DH role while Austin Hedges draws a start at catcher. Rotowire.com 35 minutes ago

  • Resting versus lefty
Brennan isn't in the Guardians' lineup Saturday versus the Angels.

Advice: Left-hander Reid Detmers will toe the slab for Los Angeles on Saturday, meaning the lefty-hitting Brennan will begin the game in the dugout. Ramon Laureano will fill the void in right field and bat fifth. Rotowire.com 38 minutes ago

  • Battling illness
Rengifo is out of Saturday's lineup versus Cleveland due to an illness, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.

Advice: Rengifo was reportedly feeling under the weather Friday as well, but he won't be able to play through his illness Saturday. Ehire Adrianza is filling in as the Angels' third baseman and could continue to do so if Rengifo is forced to miss any additional games. Rotowire.com 42 minutes ago

  • Riley Greene hits leadoff homer in loss to Yankees
Riley Greene went 1-for-3 with a solo homer in a loss to the Yankees on Saturday.

Advice: Greene socked his eighth homer of the season Saturday, and it came to leadoff the game off Clarke Schmidt. The 23-year-old has been outstanding in 2024 with .276/.401/.552 slash over 116 at-bats, and Greene is more than talented enough to keep this going while hitting at the top of the Detroit lineup. • Back to big club
The Giants recalled Sabol from Triple-A Sacramento on Saturday.

Advice: The move corresponds with San Francisco placing catcher Patrick Bailey on the 7-day concussion IL. Sabol has played 21 games in Triple-A this season, slashing .243/.378/.324 with three doubles, 16 walks, one home run and six RBI over 91 plate appearances with Sacramento. Sabol played in 110 games for the Giants last season and finished with a .235 average with 13 home runs and 44 RBI. He'll provide depth at backstop while Tom Murphy takes over as the primary catcher in Bailey's absence. Rotowire.com Today, 12:41 pm
