      Advice: With the Mets holding a 4-3 lead, the right-hander was called in to the face the heart of Arizona's order and fanned Lourdes Gurriel, Christian Walker and Jake McCarthy on 11 pitches (nine strikes). Garrett has had some stumbles of late, getting tagged for earned runs in four of his last nine appearances with a 9.00 ERA and 2.00 WHIP over that stretch, but he's still part of the high-leverage mix and a candidate for saves in the absence of Edwin Diaz (shoulder).     • Fans eight in no-decision
      Pfaadt (2-4) came away with a no-decision Sunday against the Mets, allowing four earned runs on five hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out eight.

      Advice: Pfaadt was solid outside of a rough third inning in which he allowed all four of his earned runs courtesy of back-to-back triples. The 25-year-old right-hander has now pitched six or more innings in seven consecutive starts and has yet to pitch less than five innings in any start this season. The second-year pro has been inconsistent, pitching to a 4.32 ERA, but his 5.1 K/BB and 1.08 WHIP highlight his ability to miss bats.     • Crumbles against Yankees
      Doval (2-1) allowed four runs on four hits and two walks in a blown save chance Sunday. He recorded two outs while taking a loss against the Yankees.

      Advice: Doval entered the game with a 5-3 lead in the ninth inning and was quickly jumped by the top of the Yankees' lineup. With one out in the inning, he yielded an RBI triple to Anthony Volpe, a go-ahead, two-run shot to Juan Soto and an RBI double to Giancarlo Stanton. Doval had allowed four earned runs over his previous 15.2 innings before Sunday's ugly outing. His ERA shot up from 2.78 to 4.24 with a 30:17 K:BB through 23.1 frames.     • Camilo Doval suffers blown save against Yankees
      Camilo Doval suffered a brutal blown save on Sunday afternoon against the Yankees, giving up four runs on four hits in 2/3 of an inning.

      Advice: Oof. The right-hander came on with a 5-3 lead to protect, but things got away from him in a hurry. Gleyber Torres started the inning with a single, then Anthony Volpe smacked a one-out RBI triple that narrowed the gap. Juan Soto then clobbered a go-ahead two-run homer to give the Yankees the lead. Doval kept fighting though, issuing a walk to Aaron Judge, an RBI double to Giancarlo Stanton and a walk to Alex Verdugo before uncorking a wild pitch that advanced both runners. He rallied to punch out DJ LeMahieu though before turning the ball over to Taylor Rogers to get the final out. He’s still locked in as the Giants’ closer, but his 4.24 ERA is no longer looking as spectacular and another blowup or two and Giants’ manager Bob Melvin may want to go another direction.     • Mookie Betts swats leadoff homer in win on Sunday
      Mookie Betts swatted a leadoff home run on Sunday afternoon, helping to propel the Dodgers to victory over the visiting Rockies.

      Advice: Betts didn’t waste much time in this one, crushing the third pitch that Austin Gomber threw for a 354-foot (95.8 mph EV) solo shot to give the Dodgers an early lead that they’d never relinquish. That would be the 31-year-old superstar’s only hit in four at-bats in the ballgame. For the season, Betts is now hitting a sublime .318/.412/.515 with nine homers, 32 RBI and nine stolen bases.       Betts went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in Sunday's 4-0 win over the Rockies.

      Advice: The Dodgers had all the offense they needed for the win after their first at-bat, as Betts drilled Austin Gomber's first pitch over the wall in left field. Prior to Sunday, Betts had gone 0-for-13 over the last three games, which was his longest slump of the season. That's a testament to his consistency and his elite skills as the tone-setter atop the Dodgers' lineup.       Muncy (oblique) said Sunday he's been shut down from swinging for the past 7-to-10 days after he felt a "twinge" around his rib cage, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.

      Advice: The 33-year-old landed on the injured list in mid-May with the oblique strain and doesn't appear to have made significant progress in his recovery. Per David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports, Muncy was able to field groundballs Sunday but is shut down from most baseball activities, so he's likely not particularly close to returning from the 10-day injured list.     • Brandon Pfaadt allows four runs in six innings
      Brandon Pfaadt pitched six innings on Sunday against the Mets. He struck out eight and walked two batters.

      Advice: Pfaadt pitched very well in this game despite the four earned runs. The Mets were swinging over his sweeper all afternoon before a rally with back-to-back triples by Brandon Nimmo and J.D. Martinez fueled all four of their runs.       Brown did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing three runs on five hits and one walk over six innings against the Twins. He struck out seven.

      Advice: Brown allowed two solo homers, one to lead off the game by Trevor Larnach and a blast in the sixth by Jose Miranda. Those two dingers sandwiched a second inning run-scoring double by Alex Kirilloff to represent the three tallies against Brown. The sixth-inning homer eliminated Brown's chance to pick up his second win, though he did collect his third straight quality start. While Brown's season ERA remains poor at 6.18, he's been much better over his last five starts, accumulating a 3.53 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 31 strikeouts over 28 innings.
