• Cubs activated Dansby Swanson from I.L.
Cubs activated SS Dansby Swanson from the 10-day injured list.

Advice: The Cubs don’t play today, so it’s kind of surprising that the move is coming now. However, MLB.com’s transactions page says it’s official. Still unofficial is the Luis Vazquez callup, which is expected to happen before the game Tuesday. Swanson should start at shortstop Tuesday after missing two weeks with a sprained knee. • Cubs option Mastrobuoni to Triple-A
Cubs optioned INF/OF Miles Mastrobuoni to Triple-A Iowa.

Advice: Mastrobuoni had been filling in at shortstop for Dansby Swanson of late, but he was just 5-for-40 in his 19 games. He’s a career .212/.284/.259 hitter in 211 plate appearances. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:44 pm

  • Xander Bogaerts out with shoulder inflammation
The Padres are calling Xander Bogaerts’ injury left shoulder inflammation.

Advice: It’s an odd diagnosis, being that this was a sudden injury sustained while diving for a ball, but it’s what we’re left with after the Padres couldn’t initially find anything serious going on within the shoulder. He obviously was not included in the lineup for the second game of today’s doubleheader. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:16 pm

  • Bo Bichette goes 4-for-4, doubles three times
Bo Bichette finished 4-for-4 with three doubles against the White Sox on Monday.

Advice: The first double should have been an out, but the last two were legit. Those two and the single were all hit at least 105 mph, making this easily Bichette’s best exit-velocity day of the season. It was definitely an encouraging showing, even if it was aided by some meatballs from the White Sox staff. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:39 pm

  • Initial tests good on Xander Bogaerts’ shoulder
The Padres said that the initial imaging on Xander Bogaerts’ shoulder came back negative.

Advice: Hopefully, this will prove to be a day-to-day situation. We might know more later today. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:17 pm

  • Initial imaging returns negative
Bogaerts had preliminary imaging on his left shoulder come back negative Monday, though the Padres are awaiting additional test results, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Advice: The veteran infielder exited Game 1 of Monday's doubleheader after he suffered the injury while making a diving stop at second base. Bogaerts likely won't be available for Monday's nightcap, but he should be considered day-to-day until more information is available. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:44 pm

  • Otto López continues to start for Marlins at 2B
Otto López is starting for the Marlins at second base for the eighth straight game.

Advice: López has earned an everyday role since the Marlins traded Luis Arraez. The 25-year-old is hitting .300/.345/.540 with three home runs and one steal in 22 games. López is striking out just 18 percent of the time and has posted solid batting averages throughout his minor league tenure, so he could be a source of batting average and steals in deep league formats. • Xander Bogaerts leaves game with shoulder injury
Xander Bogaerts left Monday’s game against the Braves with a shoulder injury.

Advice: Bogaerts dove for a ball and came up grabbing his shoulder. While there is no immediate information on the extent of the injury, Bogaerts was removed from the game and was in clear pain. It was a play reminiscent of the one that injured Trevor Story earlier in the year. We’ll wait for more information but losing Bogaerts would be a huge issue for a Padres offense that would likely need to play Donovan Solano and Tyler Wade more often. • Leaves game with shoulder injury
Bogaerts was removed from Monday's game in Atlanta with an apparent left shoulder injury, Sammy Levitt of 973 The Fan reports.

Advice: Bogaerts landed awkwardly while making a diving stop at second base in the third inning and looked to be in considerable pain immediately. He walked off the field under his own power and now could be headed for testing. Bogaerts was retired in his lone plate appearance before departing. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:23 am
