Yordan Alvarez crushed a pair of home runs and drove in three as the Astros walloped the Rockies 12-4 in Mexico City on Saturday night.

Advice: The 26-year-old slugger victimized Rockies’ right-hander Cal Quantrill in the third inning, demolishing a 461-foot (108.8 mph EV) two-run shot that gave the Astros a 3-2 lead that they would never relinquish. He also tacked on a 461-foot (113.0 mph) solo shot off of Tyler Kinley in the ninth inning. Alvarez finished the night 3-for-5 and is now hitting .283/.358/.509 to go along with seven homers and 17 RBI on the season. Rotoworld Today, 7:34 pm

He also drew a walk and struck out in the contest, participating in only the three true outcomes. • Steals two bases, scores four runs
Young went 2-for-4 with an RBI, four runs scored and two stolen bases in Saturday's 11-4 win over the Marlins.

Advice: He had just two singles but managed to reach base in all five plate appearances, getting on via a hit-by-pitch, a fielder's choice and an error. It was the second multi-steal game this season for Young, who swiped three bags against the Giants back on April 9. Young is now a perfect 21-for-21 on stolen base attempts in 52 major-league games. The 24-year-old should continue to run wild as long as he's in the lineup, and his terrific defense in center field helps him in that regard. The rest of Young's offensive game is so limited, though, that he doesn't have much margin for error. Rotowire.com Today, 6:35 pm

  • Swats grand slam Saturday
Winker went 2-for-5 with a grand slam in Saturday's 11-4 victory over the Marlins.

Advice: After walking CJ Abrams to load the bases in the top of the fifth inning, Edward Cabrera hung a curveball to Winker, who deposited it over the right-field wall to break the game open. Winker also had a single, giving him his first multi-hit game since April 16. He's now slashing .291/.404/.465 on the season for the Nationals. Rotowire.com Today, 6:23 pm

  • Matt Vierling powers Tigers past Royals Saturday
Matt Vierling blasted a go-ahead three-run homer in the seventh inning on Saturday, powering the Tigers to a 6-5 victory over the Royals.

Advice: The Tigers entered the seventh inning trailing 3-1, but drew even on RBI singles by Mark Canha and Kerry Carpenter. Vierling then followed by crushing a 377-foot (110.7 mph EV) laser off of Chris Stratton that scraped the wall in left field and gave the Tigers a 6-3 lead. He finished the night 1-for-2 and is now hitting .278/.297/.431 with two homers and seven RBI on the year. Rotoworld Today, 6:20 pm

  • Jason Young steals two bases, scores four runs
Jason Young went 2-for-4 and scored four runs while stealing two bases in a blowout win over the Marlins on Saturday.

Advice: Young, 24, procured his seventh and eighth steal in the contest. The 24-year-old has been much better than anyone could have anticipated, and the pair of hits have him slashing .309/.356/.364 over 55 at-bats. There’s reason for skepticism, but he obviously hasn’t done anything to keep himself from getting regular playing time to begin 2024. Rotoworld Today, 4:23 pm

  • Jesse Winker hits grand slam in victory over MIA
Jesse Winker hit a grand slam in the Nationals’ 11-4 victory over the Marlins on Saturday.

Advice: Winker continues his offensive resurgence, and his grand slam in the fifth inning extended Washington’s lead to 6-1. The 30-year-old is now slashing .291/.404/.465 over the first month of the season; a vast improvement on the offensive numbers he was posting with Seattle and Milwaukee over the last two years. It’s a small sample, but there’s no denying what Winker has done is encouraging. Rotoworld Today, 4:22 pm

  • Ryan Mountcastle blasts solo homer on Saturday

It was the second home run of the season for the 27-year-old first baseman to go with a .299/.364/.483 slash line and 12 RBI across 99 plate appearances. Rotoworld Today, 3:28 pm
