The shortstop is now up to 14 home runs on the campaign, with six of them coming this month and four coming over his last eight games.       Advice: Gonzales tallied Pittsburgh's first run of the game with a solo home run in the fourth inning, his fifth long ball of the season.     • Jackson Merrill power binge continues in loss
      Jackson Merrill went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in a loss to the Mets on Saturday.

      Advice: Merrill launched a 411-foot blast against Jose Quintana for his seventh home run of the season. The rookie now has four home runs in his last three games. All of them have also been solo shots. Merrill was billed as primarily a batting average asset who wouldn’t provide much power, so it’s nice to see him starting to show some pop.
